If it were possible we would have given this a minus star rating. We had stayed at this hotel previously and been very satisfied. When we arrived there on 14th October we were a little concerned that the surroundings semed to have gone down a couple of notches. On ringing the bell we were "greeted" by some one of grey,greasy,... More

If your a fan of "Fawlty Towers" then this place is a must visit. Only difference is this one is for real!! Despite all the drama surrounding our stay, we had a great time. Our room was fine, clean and stocked with all goodies, breakfast was superb, parking right out front brilliant, location excellent, So what was wrong? If you... More

Hotel "staff" welcoming and very kindly offered us sandwiches before our evening theatre trip- we were running late. So off to a good start. However the rooms definately need refurbishment and soon, to banish clutter and musty odours. The people running the hotel obviously work hard but this is let down by the surroundings. I wouldn't reccommend staying here unless... More

Difficult to believe? Of course, even Basil Fawlty seems tame compared with my experience in Stratford-upon-Avon. Having booked the room over the telephone for myself and a friend, and spoken with a man who painted the ground floor room with two separate bedrooms and sharing en suite in glowing colours, I was looking forward to the accommodation. My expectations were... More

We arrived late afternoon to check in - spent ten minutes on the door step waiting for the door bell to be answered. Eventually, opened by a man who appeared to be completely inebriated - he was barely able to stand up straight and was incoherent. We asked to be shown to our room but were subjected to a barrage... I arrived at this hotel, a woman alone, at 2.00 pm, an hour earlier than the normal check-in time but this had been pre-arranged with the friendly man I spoke to on the phone at the time of booking. After 30 minutes of ringing the bell and telephoning in an attempt to gain entry to the hotel, the door was... More

We stayed here one saturday night to go to the theatre. We were greeted by a very untidy german man who looked like he had just arrived back from a day on the beach!- not impressive for first impression of a hotel. i agree with other comments written-needs de-cluttering, fresh paint and generally smarter everywhere.Breakfast ok, room small but clean... I have given this place 3 only because it is after all 2* accommodation and I am trying to be as objective as I can. Decor was so outdated and tired that I would struggle to name a period it was aspiring to. We stayed in the ground floor room near the kitchen, so we had 'enjoyment' of kitchen odours... More
