As regular visitors to Stratford we have tried numerous hotels and B & Bs. The Melita is the best with clean, very well appointed rooms, a warm welcome, pleasant lounge and gardens and good food. Situated within easy walking distance of the Theatre and Town Centre you can park your car in the private car park and forget about it. more

My wife and I visiting from the US found this to be a nice place close to town center and the theater. Beautiful garden in back. Great breakfast. Easy walk to theater and back in the evening. more

My 2 friends and I have been staying here for over 7 years, once or twice a year. Pat's welcome and wit are enough to recommend the place! The newly re-furbished rooms are very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts are varied, plentiful and delicious! The location is ideal, as it is a moments walk from the river, theatre,... more

Stayed at this b&b for three nights in August. Patricia and Russell were very friendly and always willing to give advice if needed. Our room overlooked the lovely garden which really was as good as the pictures. The room was spotless, as was the bathroom. If your thinkig of coming to Stratford upon Avon and want a perfect location, clean room... more

We were in a comfortable newly decorated spacious en-suite room on the first floor with a great view of the rear garden which no doubt in the season would be quite spectacular, there were even bonsai trees out there! The standard of cleanliness in the room and throughout the hotel was excellent and at night it was just blissfully peaceful.... more

Stayed one night in November. Hotel is a few minutes walk from town centre with all it's attractions. Very warm welcome from friendly owners. Odd-shaped bedroom, owing to en-suite and small hall installed. Huge double bed which took up most of room, clean, although cobwebs evident. Dated decor. Very good breakfast in nice dining-room, and swift check-out. more

the location is nice for the theaters but the hotel itself i would consider to be average. if you are not going to be spending time relaxing in a hotel this one would be fine. more

We spent two nights at Melita which we enjoyed. It is very close to the center of town within walking distance of the pedestrian bridge. We had a quad room way up at the top. The room was very clean and had everything that we would need. Melita is exactly what it calls itself a Private Hotel. Patricia the hostess/owner... more

We stayed here with friends in July 2005, and loved this hotel. The common areas were clean and well-lit; the rooms were very pleasant - our friends were on the floor below us and we saw their room as well; the ensuite bathrooms were large and light-filled. In spring or summer, don't miss the garden. We will definitely stay on... more
