We were a party of 8 celebrating a special birthday. The feature room had been booked for the "birthday boy" and his wife as a special treat which turned into a nightmare with all the noise from outside keeping them awake both nights, even though the windows were supposedly double glazed. The other 3 rooms were very "tired" and, although... more

Wy e were warmly welcomed and a very pleasant young man was only too willing to assist with our baggage. Yes, the manager is foreign but he is extremely hard working and helpful. These are really the only good points - the room was average and facilities very dated and just about adequate. No tissues in the bathroom with a... more

We booked this hotel in April to stay for one night during the May Bank Holiday. Upon arrival to check in, we were behind two ladies who had left their key at recpetion while they went out - and on their return reception had lost their key! This was our first clue of the staggering incompetence! Anyway, my friend presented... more

Stayed one night in this hotel right in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon and was very impressed with the warm welcome at reception. The setting was very olde worlde, which is what we expected from this very old establishment. The room was large, clean and with all the requirements for our stay. The bed was the most comfortable nights sleep away... more

Rooms OK and a good location, but a poor breakfast and very poor service from the breakfast staff. The service from the bar and reception staff was pretty good though. Not too bad but could do much better and not great value at £80 per night for a double room. more

Undoubtedly the White Swan oozes that old English charm, well the Good Companions bar and the Oak room do. I would still rate the White Swan as having the finest bar lounge in Stratford, but start ordering food or staying here the charm quickly fades. We were returning visitors to the White Swan having stayed about eight years ago and... more

Do not be fooled....... The advertising board outside of the hotel states it is "The Quintessential English Hotel" I spoke with whom I assumed was the owner /manager and it was obvious he was foreign. With respect to him , he hasnt quite grasped what he is trying to advertise. The hotel looks wonderful from the outside and then you... more

Booked through Laterooms for £65/night, which was just as well, as full price was £125 - a joke for these facilities. Right in the town centre, with no parking unless (like us) you were super-early and could squeeze into the tiny carpark behind the hotel. Staff were friendly enough, but the room was small, with hideously outdated décor and the... more

I have just come back from a 2 night stay over new year with my husband. The hotel is a lovely old building and the location is excellent. First impressions are warm and cosy. We had an executive/family room which lived up to its name in space only, as it certainly wasn't luxurious. The furniture was basic 1940's dark wood... more

I don't know what has happened to this hotel. I stayed two years ago and had a fantastic time. This time after upgrading to an executive room, it was awful. No hot water, no heating. I repeatedly had to ask the staff to rectify this. Eventually they did, by bringing us electric heaters. The hotel is shabby from it's decor... more
