Living one hour away from newcastle we thought it would be a good idea to stay the night during a weekend festival called evolution. It cost £15 pppn and there were 4 people in each room, the electric shower was immaculate and all the bed sheets were throughly clean. Breakfast was lovely and the service was sound. Excellent value for... more

Went to Cliff Richard concert [28/11/08] & needed hotel fairly near to venue. Didn't know about this site. Pity! Hotel seems owned/run by Asian Indians. We were met at reception by 2 Asian men and a drunk whom the staff wished to eject. What followed was disgusting [& in front of my wife]. The manager tipped the drunk on the... more

My husband and I found this hotel to be welcoming, clean and friendly, the continental breakfast was very good. As a mature couple who don't care to be out late at nights we appreciated the freeview large screen TV. Hot water from the sink was a problem at times, but what the hell, have a shower or boil a kettle,... more

Lets get one thing straight, this place does not even resemble a hotel and is more like a hostel! communal showers and toilets, rude staff among other things. we were getting on a plane back to dublin on a sunday night, and when we checked out of the hotel that morning they refused to let us keep our bags in... more

I booked in to this hotel because it was near the hospital, my husband was transfered to the cirtical care unit there as an emergency and I needed to be close by. The rate was £65 a night but they charged me an extra £5 to park each day too. Bathroom was across the hall, through a door then past... more

Booked at short notice through laterooms.com as it was pretty much all that was available - this is a perennial problem in Newcastle. The hotel is on Westgate Road, about a mile and a half from the city centre and not the nicest area in the city although it's mostly student country now. You are charged a 2.5% surcharge on... more

Stayed here on 29/09/07 the night before the great north run. Newcastle was booked solid so couldn't get anywhere else. On the plus side it was clean and close to the start of the race. On the negative side it was situated in a very bad looking area, shared bathroom (although I was aware of that while booking - only... more
