After booking this at the last minute, I really wondered whether this was the right choice. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the case. The hotel is in a bad location and the area is not friendly for families if you are checking late at night. The hotel itself has some bad odour which omnipresent both in common areas and... More

The Grainger Hotel offers a good location and excellent value, when I stayed I booked through Booking.com and had free parking and free breakfast. The room and bathroom were very clean. I had a comfortable stay and the continental breakfast was very good.

Hubby booked on booking.com....photos looked OK. Needed a bed for night after flying back from ibiza before drive back to Scotland. Drove onto street. ..omg. .I reckon we witnessed at least 4 drug deals going on. Did not even stop the car. Drove back to airport..had a brilliant nights sleep in a comfy safe bed. Car wasn't stolen. ..If we'd... More

Unfortunately the post code of this hotel does not take you anywhere near the hotel, and after driving round in circles for at least 1/2 hour, I gave up and went to stay in another hotel as I was so stressed. I did phone the hotel and the owner was not able to give me clear instructions on how to... More

The hotel is in a great location with short taxi ride to centre of town. All three rooms used by our party of three were all very clean and tidy, but when booking request a room at the back of the hotel as the front rooms can be a bit noisy with traffic on the busy Westgate Road. Off street... More

After reading reviews. Bit worried but was clean, and tidy. Met by friendly staff. Stayed a night on basic but comfortable single room. Not luxurious but good value hotel. Only slight issue was surrounding area as didn't seem nicest area, but overall good stay.

I know it's a long time since we stayed the night at Grainger Hotel in Newcastle, however I felt the need to prevent anyone thinking of staying the night here! Me and my partner couldn't get back to our local village because all public transport had stopped, we decided to book a room for a night, Grainger hotel was 'one'... More

This was ok for a one night stay but the room was small and the blinds over the opaque glass window didn't work, so worse than a prison cell. The room itself was clean and tidy and the en-suite bathroom was adequate and spotless. The bed was very comfortable, however. The hotel has no bar, just a lounge with television,... More

As the title says this place was ok for the price, it's not in a nice area and there's two big hills to walk up if walking from town. When we arrived at the hotel the staff were friendly, the room was small but clean and the bed was comfy. Just remember its a budget hotel and you get what... More
