This lovely guest house is in a beautiful location up at the top of a hill with great views all around. When we arrived Jacqi was busy getting ready for an important family evening out , but still took the time to give us drinks and cakes and give us lots of info about places to eat , she couldn't... We were visiting Beamish outdoor museum and East Byermoor Guest House was well located for this and nearby attractions such as Newcastle, Hadrian's Wall and the coast. Very homely and welcoming atmosphere, clean and beautifully furnished throughout. Breakfasts were lovely with a great choice and the 'secret recipe' mushrooms we especially delicious. We stayed in the Beamish room and it... More

We can't believe how lucky we are to have found this lovely guest house which I'm now sure we will return to many times. As our daughter has just started at Newcastle Uni we were looking for somewhere to stay which we could return to when visiting her (travelling from Southampton). Karl, Jacqi and Karls mum made us all feel... More

Surrounded by farms and fields this cottage B&B was wonderful. Carl the host was so friendly and helpful. He assembled a wonderful breakfast for us and was always more than willing to help with touring suggestions, directions and restaurant choices. His mum is so sweet. The property itself is beautiful. We stayed in the Byermoor room and it was very... More

Cannot recommend this beautiful, homely guest house enough - my Mother and I were enchanted! My thanks to Karl for his local knowledge of restaurants* and for 'going the extra mile' (no pun intended) for taking those guests (myself included), partaking in the GNR virtually to the start line. Nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was immaculate, the surrounding... More

Visited Newcastle the weekend of 4th July and stayed here with two of my daughters and our dog. We had a great weekend and were made to feel very welcome - dog not allowed in bedrooms and now allowed on furniture, which is perfectly acceptable and understandable. We stayed in the two bedroom cottage (sleeps 3). Whilst we didn't self-cater,... More

Ever since we stayed at East Byermoor over the Easter weekend I have been trying to think of something original to say about it - but I have failed! I can only repeat that the family are very welcoming, especially Karl who could not do enough for us, our room was warm and comfortable with an excellent bed, the breakfast... More
