My daughter was married there and we stayed 2nights over the weekend. The hotel staff were all so pleasant and efficient that ten out of ten doesn't do them justice, we were in a number of different room types , The delux room in the main section of the house was really top notch. With a classy bathroom ,the bath/shower... More

Our stay at Jesmond Dene House Was a bit mixed. The hotel & grounds were gorgeous, our room had quite a beautiful view and we had been upgraded for free upon arrival. The price was also very reasonable for the type of accommodation. The hiking area behind the hotel ( I'm not sure if they're part of the Jesmond dene... More

We were there last week for 2 nights and had an excellent stay. The room (in the main house) overlooked the gardens and was large with a beautifully appointed bathroom. At breakfast they did the best poached eggs I have ever tasted. Will definitely go back for an extended North East holiday based at the hotel.

Had a great four nights here during some unusually warm weather for the North east. Was impressed by the size of our junior suite in the new house - and sound proofing so good that we heard nothing of our neighbours during our stay. The decor and fittings, linens etc were all high quality - the only downside I can... More

I have stayed here on business for a year or so and have not once had a bad experience that has not been dealt with quickly and discreetly. I have had small meetings and large meetings here all that have been expertly dealt with. We will continue to return, the staff really do make this hotel, many thanks to Izzy,... More

To finish off our 43rd Wedding Anniversary we booked an overnight stay of Dinner B & B at J. D.H. Hotel.Again we were not disappointed. Dinner was fine dining to the ultimate and the room we had been allocated before so was of 5 star quality. Breakfast was to the same high standard. Staff were also first class and again... More

Don't let the last few miles on the main road as you get near put you off - this is a hidden gem, tucked away in a very quiet and pleasant location. We splashed out on the Noble Suite, and enjoyed the extra space, comfortable sitting area and ultra modern bathroom. The room is in the roof space, and care... More

The staff were fantastic and could not do any more to make the experience any better. We had the taster menu with the wine pairing this was lovely, and I am glad we chose the pairing as we would not have tried the different types of wine offered. Will be staying again soon.

I had lived in Jesmond Dene in Deep Dene House for six months some 49 years ago and had organised a nostalgic visit to Newcastle and the Dene with my wife as part of our 40th wedding anniversary celebrations. Despite having booked the hotel on a non refundable basis for last December I was unwell and had to cancel. The... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A grand house with contemporary style, a leafy setting near the heart of the city. Jesmond Dene House is neither a townhouse nor a country house hotel. It's simply 40 well-designed bedrooms and suites in a richly historic building offering understated luxury and rather good food. Overlooking the wooded valley of Jesmond Dene, the privately owned hotel guarantees peace, escapism and a refreshing change. Newcastle's city centre, however, is only a five-minute drive. The hotel recently received 4 red stars and the AA Hotel of the Year 2008-2009. ... more   less
