This is a lovely hotel with well appointed rooms & an attentive & friendly staff. Interesting art works add to the appeal though I would like stronger lighting especially when trying to read at night. The food is good - the chef is obviously imaginative but there is a tendency to overdo the ingredients to my taste. We will definitely... More

Hard to see how this superb hotel could be any better. The beautiful listed building hosted a family wedding this past weekend which was perfect in every detail. The staff were very professional, friendly and helpful, the food was wonderful, try their chicken with truffles (yummy) and sticky toffee pudding - wow! We stayed over night and sampled their breakfast,... More

Although we only had one night in Newcastle we chose to stay here rather than at a city centre hotel and were glad we did. In winter the old house looks a bit spooky from outside but inside it is warm and inviting and the staff are extremely friendly. The grounds are pretty with lovely walks to be had in... More

Been here for Valentine's day as it is a very romantic place. Breakfast was good (14,50 per person continental and 18,00 for full English breakfast), we went there at 10, it s a bit too late as they close at around 11 so you have to hurry up to try the food, which was very good especially the yoghurt and... we had booked a suite, suitable for disabled as it was our silver anniversary and wanted to treat ourselves. On arrival we were taken to the modern building which could only be accessed by going outside and I must admit that it was a bit of a drawback, especially as I use an electric scooter and had to use the... Had the great pleasure of spending a night at this brilliant hotel after attending a wedding there. The wedding was brilliant and it is a beautiful location and venue, the food was outstanding the best I have ever had at a wedding. We stayed in Room 12 which was a very pleasant room with all the facilities you would expect... More

Have been here several times for special occasions and one off treats - including Mother's Day 2014 and New Years Eve 2014. Every time the food is exceptional and the staff attentive and welcoming. Would highly recommend - a must for visitors to Newcastle. The afternoon tea is also very special. Haven't actually stayed here but must say the restaurant... More

Lovely hotel and excellent facilities. However be very careful that you know exactly what you are booking and paying for. The hotel was 'confused' over our booking and refused to acknowledge that we had bought a 'Foodie' package. They insisted that we had to pay the full price and we found ourselves having to pay hundreds of pounds more than... More

My close friend tool me here as a birthday treat . My experience was absolutely fantastic , the food was amazing and the service was excellent . The room was relaxed and comfortable and we had the pleasure if sitting right next to the coal fire ... Very cosy !! Would recommend going here to any one .
