Thank you very much Grey Street for a fabulous stay. We had a Beautiful and big room for very reasonable price. We were greeted by polite, friendly and helpful staff. Special thank you to the lovely Rachel in reception for the life saving plasters. We will definitely be back. *****

Housed in a Victorian building this hotel is in an ideal location for anyone wishing to explore Newcastle or take advantage of the plethora of bars & restaurants available on your doorstep. This Victorian property was originally a bank and evidence of this can still be seen in the marble & glazed tiled walls of the staircase and the mosaic... More

I booked this hotel as a surprise get away for my partners birthday, after reading some of the reviews I was very weary about staying here. We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and I couldn't fault it. As soon as you walked through the door, the staff at reception made you feel very welcome and we're all so... More

We arrived for a birthday weekend and the first room we were given was not worth the price we paid at all. Requested a move and were shown 2 other rooms before being upgraded to a far better one. The Scottish girl on reception was so lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. Our first room was tiny, grubby &... More

Friendly and helpful staff and a great location, but our "deluxe" room wasn't quite luxurious enough to warrant the title. The bathroom was very small with decor in need of freshening up. The stairwells and corridors were slightly shabby with lots of very creaky floorboards. The floor of the room above was also very creaky meaning we could hear every... More

I was booked to stay at another hotel. On arrival I was told that I had been quoted a incorrect rate and, as a result my stay would be more expensive than my budget. Whilst in the other hotel I went on to Booking.com and notice a last minute deal for the Grey Street hotel. There was a option to... More

This is a old building with narrow hallways and half landings, not clearly signposted as to finding the right room, which we did eventually!. The room was clean with water, tea and coffee but the decor leaves a lot to be desired. Well located and good food available in the Living Rooms next door. No parking facilities.

I stayed here for one night in December 2014 as I was in Newcastle on business. The hotel is well located and rooms were comfortable and clean with a lovely big bath. My room was on the top floor but looked out onto the main street and it was quite noisy. It may have been because of the time of... More

My room overlooked Grey Street but wasn't noisy at all. The room was lovely, really clean, comfortable and the shower was lovely and hot after a long day. The room was cheaper than the Premier Inn and far nicer in my opinion. Definitely intend to stay again the next time I visit Newcastle.

Clean and comfortable, affordable city centre hotel, ideal for a city break. The only negative is that apart from breakfast time the connecting door to the Living Room restaurant is locked so you have to go into the street to get there and order a meal. Once you do the food is quite good.

Thank you for taking the time in sharing your experience of your recent visit to Grey Street Hotel. The door that links the Hotel to the Living Room Restaurant is locked, so when entering through the main doors you receive a warm welcome by the service staff and not just left unattended in the main restaurant. We hope to see... More
