In the center of Newcastle and with easy access to the many good restaurant, shops and bars in Grey Street and the back streets leading off it. Easy walking distance to some magnificent buildings and monuments. The hotel suited me perfectly because all I wanted was a good clean bed and hot water in a reasonably quiet centrally located hotel.... More

Me and my partner stayed between Wednesday and Friday this week. The hotel is in a great location, with the Quayside and shops/bars only a couple of minutes walk away. The room was nice (no7), the bathroom could maybe have been spruced up slightly, with a small chip in the bottom of the bath and the tiling could've been cleaned/re... More

fantastic hotel, gorgeous rooms with massive windows. corridors could do with a make over as it lets it down alot but the rooms themselves are lovely decorated. nothing was too much to ask for who ever was on reception desk, as much tea and milk as we wanted-big tea drinkers! yes there's a lot of noise in a morning but... Booked trip as a surprise for my daughters 21st birthday as a returning customer. Staff always go the extra mile and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Second half of party arrived on the Saturday to find they had been upgraded to suites which was a lovely surprise. Agree that there is normally outside noise but location is... More

There was little I could do to fault this hotel itself, as a Head Receptionist of a Best Western hotel this was borderline fantastic. There was a group of 12 of us, 6 bedrooms booked. The only problem I had was a miscommunication error where we were told by Andrew one day that we could have an extra bed in... More

Thank you for taking the time to give us your fantastic review, particularly as you are in the industry it is greatly appreciated. Sorry there were a few niggles but glad to hear most were sorted. The hotel is a listed building so part of its charm is its mixture of rooms, but as you found we are always happy... More

The hotel was very clean with welcoming reception staff. The room was small but adequare. 4 lamps in the room only 2 would switch on. Extra milk produced on request and a dvd borrowing scheme which is free. Bed was lovely and comfy. Have to say it was a very noisy night, sirens nearly all night long. Central location tho.... More

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Sorry to hear about the 2 lamps which did not work, however if you would have brought this to our attention at the time we would have tried to resolve the problem. Glad that you found our beds comfy, however due to our great central location, sometimes we can be... More

We were over for a few days for a graduation. Location is the best feature of this hotel---handy to the metro and bars, clubs, shops and restaurants. Rooms are dated---would need a refurbish. Was also disappointed with the breakfast. It has potential to be great though.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We agree that our location is great and everything you need is right on your doorstep. We are planning a refurb for the near future where all rooms will be spruced up. Sorry to hear about breakfast, we shall pass your comments onto the Living Room. More

This hotel appeared to offer so much! In reality it did not live up to expectations. The double room was shabby; paintwork needs immediate refreshing; duvet cover had a hole in it! Visited here as part of a hen party recently and would 100% recommend. Hotel itself isn't ideal as rooms located on all different levels and found it quite confusing like a maze. Rooms are okay quite standard but clean which is the main thing, staff are friendly enuf, but location is spot on. Your in the centre on everything on... More

Stayed at Grey street hotel for a weekend. Staff were very helpful from the moment of arrival to when I checked out. Reception staff very kind & corteous and helped with any query no matter how trivial. Decour may look a bit tired but ultimately I wasn't spending 2 nights in the hotel to just be looking at the carpet,... More
