Stayed for one night in April as a couple, excellent location and value for money. Very friendly staff, allowed us to leave our bags for the day after check-out. Basic but has all of the amenities you could need, including ironing board in room. Would recommend for a short break.

The staff at the Grey St hotel are most helpful and friendly. The accommodation is typical of an older city centre building with odd stairways up and down to the rooms. The rooms are smallish but very clean. Our ensuite was missing shampoo but this was quickly sorted out by the staff. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and... More

Just got back from a lovely stay at The Grey Street Hotel. We were a party of 4 and were given 2 twin rooms next door to each other on the 1st floor. The rooms were nice, clean and plenty big enough for the 2 of us. The rooms were quite warm although the the air conditioning worked well, however... More

Quaint clean and tidy hotel, staff were very helpful,, good breakfast, great location with some fabulous eateries nearby, I would give the bar next door a miss, it's a bit pretentious and overpriced, the Brazilian restaurant further up the street is excellent

The location of this hotel is perfect. If you're looking for a decent hotel in the heart of Newcastle then this has to be one of the best. We arrived at the hotel at 9am after an early flight from Cardiff and the young gentleman on reception was so helpful and friendly, all the staff at the hotel were fantastic... More

Just back from a 2 night stay here at Greys Street, I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews on here but I was pleasantly surprised. The room although a little smaller than I expected was well presented, clean and had everything we needed, bottles of water, tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom was spacious, and had... More

I stayed here for one night, and picked the hotel as it was perfectly located and reasonably inexpensive (compared to similar hotels in London, anyway). This has been described elsewhere as a 'boutique' hotel; I'm not sure it's sufficiently quirky and/or plush to warrant that description, but this is a nice place to stay. Some of the communal areas -... More

This is a very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff, but i was disappointed with the room. we paid £130 for room only so expected a quality room comparable with other hotels of the same price. However our room was tiny with stairs up to the bathroom, and the furniture and paintwork were in need of some attention. There... More

Location really sells this hotel. I don't think advertising it as a "boutique&" hotel does any favours as expectations are then raised&. We took advice and asked for high floor which was perfect and really quiet&. "We booked a deluxe room and I had to check as it didn't really look like the photos and was fairly snug&! Overall I...
