This is quite possibly the worst hotel I have been to, upon my walk around newcastle I noticed a tramp sleeping in a door way, I'm sure he had a more pleasant night. This hotel would be perfect for those looking to be thrown back in time to the dark ages, leave all wifi and modern amenities behind and experience... More

We were over for a few days for a graduation. Location is the best feature of this hotel---handy to the metro and bars, clubs, shops and restaurants. Rooms are dated---would need a refurbish. Was also disappointed with the breakfast. It has potential to be great though.

This hotel appeared to offer so much! In reality it did not live up to expectations. The double room was shabby; paintwork needs immediate refreshing; duvet cover had a hole in it! Booking confirmation said bath plus shower, no bath! raised issues with staff after 5 pm on first night and was informed manager went off at 5 and no... More

Visited here as part of a hen party recently and would 100% recommend. Hotel itself isn't ideal as rooms located on all different levels and found it quite confusing like a maze. Rooms are okay quite standard but clean which is the main thing, staff are friendly enuf, but location is spot on. Your in the centre on everything on... More

Stayed at Grey street hotel for a weekend. Staff were very helpful from the moment of arrival to when I checked out. Reception staff very kind & corteous and helped with any query no matter how trivial. Decour may look a bit tired but ultimately I wasn't spending 2 nights in the hotel to just be looking at the carpet,... More

We attended Elton John concert in Newcastle and booked this hotel very last minute (night of concert when we realised we would miss last train). On late arrival charming young guy (Adam??) receptionist could not have been more helpful. Room was freezing (aircon had been left on) and smelt of cigarettes... Bed very comfortable, nice toiletries but wifi was an... More

I chose this hotel, primarily, for its location: easy access to shops and restaurants; the university; and all the main sights. On these counts the hotel is ideal. I do understand the hotel has recently been bought and will soon undergo refurbishment. the corridors and public spaces certainly need this; they are shabby and grubby. We booked two rooms -... More

Stayed here for 1 night as it was perfectly located in the center of town after a night out and the price was great. Reception staff were pleasant but the reception area itself is small and soulless. It's an old building so lots of small corridors to get to rooms but unfortunately all the character of the building itself has... More

We stayed here for two nights and found the location very convenient. The entrance to this old building is a bit disappointing as are the stairs but our room was very well appointed with a good bathroom and excellent shower. There were tea making facilities and nice toiletries,a good tv and free wifi. The Dutch girl on the desk is... More
