Very friendly and warm atmosphere, we had a very warm welcome and pleasent stay. The rooms we're excellent, very clean and comfortable and the food was excellent. Would recomend to any one young or old. 9 out of 10. more

We were very nervous about staying here because of the Fawlty towers tag - but that person must have been suffering with an illness. The staff are wonderful especially the night staff (thanks so much you made our stay!!). the rooms are clean and bright, towels ect provided. I stayed one night while attending a function, the locations great for Jesmond and the metro isn't too far away. I found all the staff friendly but there were problems with my room. It was furnished reasonably well and had a comfortable bed but the TV had been there since the seventies, cigarette burns in the plastic, no remote control... more

I stayed here on account of good reviews on this site but will be sure to do more research next time. It has all the worst aspects of dated, British hotels and makes Fawlty Towers look like something from Blade Runner. A small party of us stayed here recently - chosen because of good reviews. This hotel has a very run-down and unstylish ambience despite the presence of some new wallpaper. We stayed there for the night. The hotel is ideally situated near the city centre, near some local shops, and close enough for a cheap taxi. The hotel itself is lovely, and the staff, especially Big Mick, were fantastic. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who prefers a homely hotel compared to the mainstream brands. 11 out of 10 more
