I've stayed here myself a few times and I've been here when my family have stayed. I know it's the hotel of choice for certain celebrities and bands so it's not too be turned down if you get the chance. The food is lovely and the staff are friendly

We recently stayed at Malmaison in Newcastle for our daughters graduation. The hotel looks rather impressive from the outside. We entered the building from the back into a very dark reception area. What is it about modern day hotels that always want everything gloomy? The rooms at Malmaison were quite nice however, the bed was as hard as rock which... More

We've stayed several times at the Malmaison Newcastle and enjoyed it but a visit last year left us underwhelmed due to poor bar service and room maintenance. Thought we'd try again with a Saturday night dinner & wine package with another couple and had a great stay. Location is hotel's greatest asset, right on the Quayside, but I would strongly... More

Had a night stay here for an early birthday present and chill trip, had a spa treatment which was great, not rushed and very relaxing. Top marks for the spa. Reception staff seemed harassed which is never a surprise really. Our room was a great size and had a nice view over the river, you do pay for what you... More

I loved our stay at the malmaison, we got a great room overlooking the bridges which was clean n tidy only thing if I was being picky were the chairs were looking a bit drab. It was great value too 167 for the stay, a 2 course meal and a bottle of wine plus breaky, only thing I'd say is... More

I have stayed at the Malmaison in NC for many years. The first time I told my wife what a strange and quaint hotel it was. It still is exactly the same. The coridors are a darkish purple. They make you wish for a flashlight. Bathrooms are good. The heating is absolutely horrible. It was so overheated that I woke... More

We always try to stay at the Malmaison because of the terrific views, quiet location and spacious rooms, all these did not disappoint us this time, except our room was like a bake house we managed to open the windows a fraction and took cover off of duvet and used this as a sheet. We found out by chance the... More

Good quality hotel, good quality room, staff very friendly. Good quality breakfast, if you are travelling to Newcastle great location to explore the city. Well worth the money, will return again, the Malmaison hotels never disappoint.
