Afternoon tea in England is synonymous with teapots , cups and saucers , preferably china and a mixture of cakes , scones and sandwitches. Whilst the food I have to say was very nice, Malmaison disappointed on the tea front. This came in the form of a mug with with the tea bag still in the cup. Come on Malmaison... More

The hotel is situated in a great location on the Quay in a beautiful building. Its only a short walk into town and there are bars, coffee shops and restaurants on the way in to the centre. The room we had (standard double) was fine, but nothing more than that. Service was the same, just fine. I expected more from... More

Spent weekend at the Mal and apart from the immaculate surroundings and quality of the hotel, the service from two staff in particular, Annie and Laura - Marie was exceptional. From moment my friend and I arrived to check in we were greeted by a smily bubbly Annie who then throughout our stay was attentive and made sure we were... More

Visited this hotel this week and had booked a tyne and bridge view and wre pleased with it.A good view with an extremely comnfortable bed we would have liked to have taken home with us. The downside is the ludicrous prices that these hotels charge for their fridge contents and the snacks and the wonder that few people buy them... More

This is one of the best hotels i have ever had the pleasure of staying in, it may be a bit on the expensive side but it is worth every penny. The rooms are very spacious and clean, and i found the bed extremely comfortable and the mini bar was handy for any snacks or drinks we needed. The food... More

I took my other half here as part of his 30th Birthday and I was not disappointed. While the hotel itself is very dark and could do with being brightened up, the hotel was clean and nice. I had booked the room upgrade and we stayed in one of the suites which was nice, we had a really good deal... More

As soon as we walked in the door the place just looked dirty and shabby. People were sitting at reception with their mugs of coffee from Starbucks on the floor. Workmen's tools were lying on the floor at Reception for hours on end. Floor standing lampshades at Reception were bashed and hanging precariously off the lamps. Lifts were filthy both... More
