Staff very friendly, but check in exceptionally slow as stuck behind a stag party with only one person on front desk. Room fine: clean etc, but window didn't close properly and not double glazed which is needs to be against traffic and club/pub fallout. There was also some sort of generator noise that never went away... No bath, but bathroom... More

Centrally located for the river, the historic heart of the city, the Baltic Art Gallery and the nightlife. Friendly staff and an excellent 'full English' breakfast. Rooms well equipped and well insulated aginst noise from passing traffic. The price I paid was very competitive. Room furniture, and bathroom fixtures and fittings were a little 'tired:' I was told that there... More

I booked this accommodation at short notice and focussed more on the location than the type of establishment. This is not a hotel I would stay at again as it's typical of its type. However it makes the best of what it has but this can't change the fact that it is an old building. The walls are thin so... More

I am typing these words at midnight. The disco below (or is it next to?) my room is in full, pulsating swing. I'm unable to sleep so it's an opportunity to reflect upon the room. It's actually rather nice. Clean, nicely decorated, freshly laundered towels, a TV, a DVD player, free wi-fi, neat en-suite bathroom (a shower, but no bath)... More

I looked at the Trip Advisor reviews after booking a 3 night stay at this hotel and to be perfectly honest I was dreading it. The hotel is situated in a central part of Newcastle. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the staff were very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Breakfast was excellent, with a choice of continental including fresh fruit,... More

Staff are very friendly here breakfast is good full English plus continental including fruit yogurts cereals plus everything. The car park is opposite the hotel and is free but it's outside a nightclub so you worry about your car getting damaged by the drunks! We stayed on the 3rd floor which is suppose to be the quietest for the outside... More

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Waterside and I would stay there again. The staff are very friendly and helpful and I like the quirky decor. The location is great and the breakfast good and filling. We stayed for two nights; Thursday and Friday. Thursday was fine but on Friday there was a late licence... More
