I looked at the Trip Advisor reviews after booking a 3 night stay at this hotel and to be perfectly honest I was dreading it. The hotel is situated in a central part of Newcastle. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the staff were very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Breakfast was excellent, with a choice of continental including fresh fruit,... More

Staff are very friendly here breakfast is good full English plus continental including fruit yogurts cereals plus everything. The car park is opposite the hotel and is free but it's outside a nightclub so you worry about your car getting damaged by the drunks! We stayed on the 3rd floor which is suppose to be the quietest for the outside... More

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Waterside and I would stay there again. The staff are very friendly and helpful and I like the quirky decor. The location is great and the breakfast good and filling. We stayed for two nights; Thursday and Friday. Thursday was fine but on Friday there was a late licence... More

Firstly, you can get good deals here - £57 bed and breakfast in the centre of Newcastle is very reasonable. Secondly, the staff are friendly, and helpful, although why you can't check in before 2 pm without getting your room until later beats me. Thirdly, breakfast was nice. Now the downsides. On arrival (12.45) a group of staff were round... More

Had a lovely stay. Not mega clean or in mint condition but very very good value. Staff very helpful. Bed not very comfortable though.

I booked my single room at the Waterside through Lastminute.com. I was in Newcastle on business and needed somewhere to stay for 1 night close to the city centre. At around £50 the room was well priced compared to the Vermont and Station Hotels where I've stayed before. I also needed to deliver an hour's training in the evening. I... More

We had a very pleasant 2 night stay at this hotel. Excellent location, plenty of great bars and restaurants nearby, a stone's throw from Quayside, and an excellent bus service stops outside (Q1/Q2 buses takes you into Newcastle centre/bus station/train station) which we found very useful. (£1.70 day ticket). The room was clean and comfortable with a full bathroom, plenty... More

really not a good hotel. No soundproofing. I could hear my next door neighbours breathing and someone down the hall, "enjoying themselves". the decor is a cross between your great grandmothers house and a brothel. Really shabby. Saying that, when I told the lady on reception that I wasn't happy, she was very nice and very apologetic. Good customer services,... More
