Booked a single room for the night as i was visiting friends in the area,we had a great late night and i ended up coming back to the hotel at 3.30am in the morning. Nobody was on reception to open up,having spent three and a half hours outside the door ringing the bell as well as phoning the reception, you... more

We stayed here for one night and were greeted by an old-ish lady who didn't seem to have very good local knowledge (in fact we were left wondering if she was a bit drunk!) when we asked her if she could recommend anywhere for a nice meal?! The rooms were ok, they were clean but basic which is what we... more

I am writing this after spending one nite at this " hotel" The staff were rude and unhelpful, rude, and clearly didnt want to be there - by staff I do actually mean some old ish lady on reception when we arrived, considering we had booked 3 rooms but only needed 2 in the end, we didnt kick up a... more

after reading some of the other reviews i was a bit apprehensive about going to stay at this hotel. but after spending the weekend i have came to realise that these people clearly did not stay at the same hotel as we did. We said for two night in november 2008, we orginally wanted the quad room but were giving... more

I have stayed at the hotel a number of times over the years when I have been running in the Great North Run. I would say that it is not the type of hotel you would take your wife or girlfriend. It is clean and the breakfast is excellent, but the rooms are old and tired and small. Badly in... more

On Staying here at the osborne hotel we found the rooms basic but clean, beds were uncomfortable but after a few drinks in the hotel bar on which stays open until you feel as if you need to go to bed. So that is a bonus point for the osborne! The girl they had on the desk was very knowledgable... more

We stayed here for a hen night because it was cheap, but you expect a few basics to be right. All our beds were awful. Mine in particular had no springs on the right hand side of the bed so I had to wedge myself between the wall and the bed on the otherside otherwise I would have rolled out... more

Spent one Saturday night here - a rare privilige in Newcastle! Most hotels insist on minimum 2 night stays. The Osborne was homely and clean and our room for 3 adults was an adequate size. Didn't experience any late night noise as I'd read in a previous review. We found Jesmond to be a quiet area, (even though it was... more

We (3 guys) had a one night stay here in April 2008; £105 for a 'family room' including breakfast. I slept in, for breakfast but the guys said it was just what the doctor ordered. Other members of our party paid £120 each for room only in the nearby Caledonian Hotel. To be honest there was nothing to choose between... more

We won't be staying here again. The standard basics weren't provided, or if they were, were poor - for example: no coat hangers; no shower gel/shampoo; matresses ancient, uncomfortable & stained; plastic matress protectors didn't fit, and were hard, so they slipped off and were also uncomfortable; tea left in the teapot from a previous occupant hadn't been cleaned out... more
