Turned up expecting to be in one of lovely looking rooms photographed on their website, which I had booked for a 6 night stay well in advance. Got a box room with a double bed squeezed in with some cheap ikea furniture. If you want to be in this room, you have to be in bed! No room anywhere else!... More

Dear John K Thank you very much for taking the time to review Jesmond Hotel. Firstly, we would like to apologies that you didn't receive a warm welcome, from our Front office Receptionist, staff not exactly sure what they did that was not liked by you. The room you chose at the time of booking was a good value of... More

My husband and I stayed for one night at the weekend the only thing that let's this lovely hotel down is the parking. We had to park near the cricket club which is a 10 minute walk as all the surrounding streets are permit parking which is annoying as there were loads of free spaces nearby. The hotel is in... More

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your recent stay at Jesmond Hotel. We are really pleased the overall you enjoyed your stay. Just with regards parking space its very unfortunate council decided most of the road is parking permit only. Though we do have limited no’s of parking permit which you get it from hotel reception... Despite of the size of the room and air conditioner problem that last my entire stay the hotel is ok and has some nice restaurants. The breakfast is really good at the Italian one. Quite easy to get a taxi from there and well located depending where you are going. They have free mineral water, cookies and kit-kat. Bring your... More

The hotel is very conviniently located for central Newcastle. Bus 33 stops almost outside the door and Metro Jesmond is 10 min away. However if you do not want to bother with public transport you can easily walk to Northumberland street which is Newcastle's main shopping street. It is a quiet place which is not the case on Osborne road,... More

Stayed for 4 nights while up in Newcastle on business. Given room 24. The room was pleasant enough with only two slight niggles: 1. ITV on the TV was stuck in audio descriptive mode and as the remote had been changed to a generic one there was no way of turning it off. 2. The hot water took a long... More

Stayed here for one night when visiting Newcastle University. Situated on Osborne Road it is centrally located meaning you can walk around the popular student area of Jesmond, around Newcastle Uni and into the city centre. There were undoubtedly issues with the hotel but at only 35 pounds a head it is very reasonable, well run and I would go... More

A pleasant enough hotel, although a bit overpriced for the type of accommodation. However, although the hotel's policy states it will not accept stag or hen parties, this is clearly not the case. We left to go for a meal at 4.30pm and asked the receptionist to check on the guy who was semi-conscious in the doorway to his room.... More

Dear SusanWGala I’m sorry to hear of the disappointment you experienced during your recent stay with us here at Jesmond Hotel. Your feedback regarding your last stay has been shared with the team and a coaching session arranged with the receptionist and Night Porter who dealt with your arrival and stay. I was really surprised to read your comments as... More

Jesmond hotel is more like a large bnb, with a separate Persian restaurant downstairs. It's in a nice quiet residential area of Newcastle (though on the main road). The lobby and restaurant are smartly decorated and furnished, but this is misleading, as the rooms upstairs are a bit tired and shabby. The real shame of this place is that the... More

I can agree with the other bad reviews, twice I've stayed here & twice I've had to ask for hot running water. Apparently the boiler 'switches itself off', think that needs fixing. Hairs on the bed, it's disgraceful. Cleaning staff banging around, yes, I know, they have to do there job, I understand, but not knocking in your door, coming... More

If you put me in one of your worst rooms on the second floor then you can expect a poor review! Just because I am on my own here on business it doesn't mean you can put me in a poorly maintained cramped 2nd floor (no elevator) room. Light above bed don't work. Light by window don't work, mirror light... More
