A pleasant enough hotel, although a bit overpriced for the type of accommodation. However, although the hotel's policy states it will not accept stag or hen parties, this is clearly not the case. We left to go for a meal at 4.30pm and asked the receptionist to check on the guy who was semi-conscious in the doorway to his room.... More

Dear SusanWGala I’m sorry to hear of the disappointment you experienced during your recent stay with us here at Jesmond Hotel. Your feedback regarding your last stay has been shared with the team and a coaching session arranged with the receptionist and Night Porter who dealt with your arrival and stay. I was really surprised to read your comments as... More

Jesmond hotel is more like a large bnb, with a separate Persian restaurant downstairs. It's in a nice quiet residential area of Newcastle (though on the main road). The lobby and restaurant are smartly decorated and furnished, but this is misleading, as the rooms upstairs are a bit tired and shabby. The real shame of this place is that the... More

I can agree with the other bad reviews, twice I've stayed here & twice I've had to ask for hot running water. Apparently the boiler 'switches itself off', think that needs fixing. Hairs on the bed, it's disgraceful. Cleaning staff banging around, yes, I know, they have to do there job, I understand, but not knocking in your door, coming... More

If you put me in one of your worst rooms on the second floor then you can expect a poor review! Just because I am on my own here on business it doesn't mean you can put me in a poorly maintained cramped 2nd floor (no elevator) room. Light above bed don't work. Light by window don't work, mirror light... More

Very good rating given because for the tariff this hotel is very good value for the cost. The staff were very friendly, warm and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable if a little small, (again, as expected for the price,) I stayed for 2 nights and will be booking for the future on a regular basis as I cannot... More

For a last-minute night away this was a great choice not a massive room but who stays in their room in Newcastle it was clean and warm nice bathroom and very friendly helpful staff. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant for a reasonable price, can't wait for the next time. We were on the ground floor and were... More

Stayed overnight when visiting friends. Great location and friendly staff. The initial impression of the room was not good - tired decoration, stained carpet and really cramped. The en-suite bathroom was almost as big as the bedroom. However, we slept well and it was surprisingly quiet other than creaks from adjacent rooms. Nobody else at breakfast in a room which... More

Against our better judgement 2 large middle aged men decided to trek north and stumble around the Great North Run. Thankfully we stayed in Jesmond which is a first class location close to the city but far out enough to relax and soak up the local atmosphere in several bars. The hotel is perfectly adequate for the price and the... More

My daughter is in her first year at Newcastle University. We stayed a short one train stop north of Haymarket Station in the wonderful area of Jesmond. It's a popular place for second and third year students to live with good reason. It's got everything you need. A smaller but adequate Tesco. An independent bakery and a couple of coffee... More

Stayed here for one night when visiting northumbria university, room was small and basic but adequate for a one night stay. Receptionist was very friendly and the hotel was in a great location, very central to the thriving jesmond area. However, the window may well of been none existent! It was extremely noisy to the point where I couldn't even... More
