Just returned from a weekend staying at the kenilworth..... I and the 5 other woman I was with absolutely loved it. Staff are friendly willing to help at all times... Rooms so tidy and clean towels every day (NOT all hotels provide this) breakfast was gorgeous full off variety and cooked to order not left Under heat lamps

Valentine's day ruined. £75 to stay in a converted, freezing-cold garage. The Kenilworth is certainly not value for money nor is it sold as advertised! Be aware of the misleading photographs - this hotel is appalling and charges £75 for cancellation even when the rooms are inadequate and not fit for purpose as described on this website. Avoid staying here... More

We stayed here for just 1 night 1 the room was freezing when we arrived 2 the shower was just a trickle of water reported it but the manager never came to look at it 3 hairdryer did not work at all, new hairdryer received but that had seen better days 4 the room had the squeakest floorboards I had... I like the kenilworth hotel in Jesmond it's in a good location and provides onsite parking. The rooms are lovely and clean but rooms to the front of the hotel can be very noisy due to being on a main road and lack of double glazing. We had a good stay but little sleep due to being situated at the... More

Friendly welcome on arrival from owner, showed us to our newly decorated room with en suite and 4 post bed. Lovely decoration with nice new soft carpet. Only downside was the matress wasn't that comfortable. breakfast was included and was average. Service was good. Friendly breakfast staff. There was a limited menu for meals due to refurbishment so went elsewhere... More

Great visit all round. Very friendly staff. Could of done with hot water on first day but had to wait for boiler to warm up but we didn't have time as going to the match. Fantastic value for money 4 of us shared at around 80 quid each for 3 nights. Needs a key drop as we left at 5am... More

No shower in room despite being advertised. Strange blob of putty or gum in bath - who knows ... Bedside lamp not working. Nobody on reception when checking out - decorator told me to just leave the keys on the desk. Windows painted shut. Pillows almost completely flat. Generally unfriendly feel about the place.

The shower wasn't working in the bathroom as explained to the guest on arrival as the bathroom had recently been refitted and we were waiting for a part to enable the shower to work as the wrong part had been sent in error by the bathroom supplier. The bath was still fully functioning. A small blob of silicone had been... More

Stayed in a triple room with 2 of my friends for a concert at the metro arena and we paid £22 each for room with breakfast- bargain! When we arrived the Manager was very accommodating and as we had a quick turn around, we were able to pre-order room service for when the kitchen opened at 6. Room was clean... More

I phoned before I booked to see if they could get soya milk and they said no problem. I checked again when I arrived. No one knew anything about it at breakfast, and was the only one there! Also, just generally grubby. Very out of date and in need of repair. Saggy bed, windows don't stay open. Dirty glasses in... More

We apologise for the soya milk, an oversight that shouldn't have occurred and was our mistake for which we apologised to the guest.. That said, we do not accept the other comments made by this guest, although we understand his annoyance over the milk. The hotel is cleaned daily to our high standards by our chambermaids; all radiators can be... More
