I have seen kennels that have better conditions than the rooms in this “Hotel” Room 1 – The window would not close or lock, bed sheets were torn and had hair on them Room 2 – Mould on the wall, bed legs broke, footprints on the ceiling They should have a doormat at the reception to wipe your feet on... What to expect from a travelodge: clean room, bed, tv, kettle and tea/coffee, clean wc, friendly staff and central location. Despite the other reviews found this travelodge to be perfect, exactly what you expect from it and as good as any other travelodge. Certainly a far, far cry from claims of the worst travelodge in Britain as far as I... More

Booked last minute. We were going to see our Son at the 'Live Theatre' and didn't want a 2 hour drive home due to the weather being bad. Picked the Travelodge as you could see the theatre from the hotel. Was a little worried due to some of the reviews. I telephoned the hotel and asked if they had a... More

Stayed at the Travelodge Newcastle Central in February; cannot complain considering all of the negative reviews - comfortable bed, spacious room, decent shower, tea & coffee facilities etc. On arrival I had my doubts with all of the usual stag and hen parties loitering around but it never really affected our stay. Hotel is in a great location for the... More

I stayed here for one night, and although the hotel wasn't brilliant, it was adequate. The room hadn't been cleaned properly, and the bin wasn't emptied from the previous guest. However the bathroom was clean and the bed had been made up - the bed was comfortable too. I'd stay again if I was on a budget, but otherwise pay... More

Arrived at 1400, told we could check in at 1430. At 1430 told it would be 1500. Check in was chaos, full of 18 year old lads drinking at a pace. 1st room was tiny, smelt of smoke and about a million degrees! After complaining, Emma (duty manager) sorted everything inside 10 mins. Lovely room in quiet corridor. If TL... More

Having stayed at this Travelodge and others in the UK, we knew to expect basic budget accommodation. The room was in a terrible state and we were already moved from a room, which was just as bad, as they didn't have any replacement light bulbs!! We had a family room, and the mattresses on the pull out/sofa beds were absolutely... More

I've stayed with Travelodge elsewhere and the standard is pretty uniform. Clean room, comfortable bed. hot water. At Newcastle check-in is electronic, so no body to welcome you or explain where your room is. Most unexpected aspect of this hotel however is how sprawling it is. It was a good hike from the foyer to the room. Food is available... More
