I felt obliged to write this since the older reviews on here don't do the place justice. I think it has been taken over by new management, but is a great place now for a cheap, great fun stay in a perfect location for seeing the bars, restaurants, clubs, etc and rest of Newcastle. Newcastle itself is a fantastic city.... More

12 of us stayed here for a stag weekend. We had 3 rooms which were comfortable, there was tea and coffee facilities, the shower was fine. Breakfast was a small fry up but did the trick. Wouldn't take the girlfriend here for her birthday but as far as a stag weekend is concerned it was perfect! Top location, right next to some great pubs, friendly staff and rooms were fine for what we needed. Would recommend to any future stag parties!!

Stayed here for a weekend in April and it was just awful!! There was an old, fusty smell, everything was really old and it was very noisy. Do not stay here it is the worst hotel I have ever experinced in my life. I would have rather slept out side. Rooms smell really bad, bed mites, dirty batrooms, unclean bed sheets. Would not even send my worst enemy here : (

Myself and ten of my friends stayed at the George Hotel on the 27th August. The Hotel was really nice with friendly and welcoming staff, rooms were clean and beds really comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and it has a cool bar and restaurant, ideal for the bars being on Osborne road and a short walk into town.
