We spent 4 nights at the Newcastle Marriott which we enjoyed. My husband is in a wheelchair and the staff could not have been more kind and helpful. BUT the disabled bathroom facilities are not up to standard - a bath is provided which most disabled people can not get in and out of, the toilet has a rail on... more

Just spent 2 nights at the Marriott to visit the racecourse. Location great as it was just a couple of minutes walk from the course. Easy to get into Newcastle via frequent buses from outside the hotel - we didnt use the car at all. Check in efficient and polite. All staff were courteous and friendly at all times -... more

Service was excellent - pleasant and helpful staff at the reception and in the cafe / bar. Also very efficient, with express checkout allowing departure without having to wait at reception desk. The leisure facilities were excellent (and included in the cost). The swimming pool was big enough to allow a proper swim, and the fitness room contained cardiovascular machines,... more

Booked this hotel last minute - when I called they where fulled booked, but the lady checked to see if there were any cancelations, which there were and she booked us a twin room. On arriving, I was expecting something a bit more attractive once passed the main gates - it looks like your typical airport hotel on the outside.... more

We visited the Marriott the weekend of 14/15 February. We stayed here as we were attending a wedding in the hotel. The hotel is located next door to Gosforth Park Race track. Let me say from the outset that the staff were faultless. Pleasant and clearly wishing to make the visit as pleasant as possible. As others have said, it... more

The overall look of this hotel from the outside may dissapoint you but once your inside that changes. From the outside it looks like a typical airport hotel but inside it has the lovely marriott decor. The check-in was very quick considering their was a whole rugby team to check in amongst us. Room was lovely, spacious with a desk... more

Picturesque grounds and friendly courteous staff were my first impressions of this charming hotel. I arrived alone with several bags albeit for only two nights [hey I`m female, lol] and was escorted to my room in a manner reminiscent of several decades ago when hotels catered solely for the wealthy and famous. My room was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, warm... more

Check-in was busy when we arrived with a queue stretching beyond the entrance doors. The reception desk is pretty small for a hotel of this size and could benefit from a third check-in console in busy periods. The rooms are relatively small due to the age/era of the building and have a matching, small TV too. The King beds are... more

I stayed at the Gosforth Sat 22nd (have been previously with my partner) but this was intentionally to plan a weekend away with my mother when we go to see IL Divo. Wanting to make sure everything was just right when we do go away I was more critical this visit... maybe as I was mainly alone until my partner... more

My wife and I stayed one night when we went to a concert in the city hall. It compares well in price with the city center hotels but is not full of the weekend stag and hen parties. The hotel is an easy bus ride to the city, there is a bus stop just ouside the exit and the bus... more
