I'm writing this at 3.50am so perhaps it will indicate my night rest! I'll start with arriving well mannered receptionist, executive room nice and spacious and usual good clean standard. Restaurant usual fayre poor value starters the pate and bloomer bread should be referred to trade descriptions two small pieces of bread. Main not to bad prices reflect convenience of... More

We have visited the hotel 4 times and twice we have had a fantastic stay and twice we have had an OK stay. the 2 times we have had any issues has been when there has been a wedding function and the guests get a little drunk and a lot loud. if they could somehow separate guests better the hotel... Coach party of 27 very varied people arrived a week ago for 3 night stay. Perfect check-in with pre-booked rooms AND PRE-BOOKED DINNERS. The rooms were superb - I have paid far more and got far less elsewhere. Eating times were set for the whole group to dine together. Choice of starters served, and excellent choice of food from self... More

Stayed here for one night whilst visiting family. Party of 6 in two executive rooms (130 and 132). Room 130 nicer bathroom, dust everywhere, broken safe. Room 132 dirty tile grout, shower coming off wall, carpet filthy with stains and chewing gum. Complimentary still and sparkling water as well as hot drinks ( water left in the kettle had scum... Thank you for your comments. As you will have read we do have some new rooms that are awaiting the final touches (this week) & up to now these have not been used as Executive Rooms. This may answer the question in the title of your review as could have a member of staff during your stay with us. We... More

Years ago we stayed in Holiday Inns regularly but consistently had problems so haven't used one for years. We only went to this one as it was booked as part of a coach tour we went on and it certainly brought back memories of past encounters with the chain!. When we arrived on Friday evening the tour guide was given... More

Booked this hotel for the night before an early morning flight from Newcastle airport. It's within easy driving distance from the airport and our deal included parking at the long stay. Easy to find, and reception was efficient, helpful and smiley. Had a light dinner in the bar which was good quality and tasty. Drinks were reasonable for a hotel... More

Have stayed here a number of times and have usually been very pleased with it. This was our best stay! We had one of the newly refurbished air conditioned rooms, although air con not needed. Room excellent - especially the very tasteful and well equipped bathroom. Fixed price menu in restaurant was very good value and our meals were tasty... More

Have tried a few hotels out in the newcastle area. I have to say my business stay here was very comfortable . I was given one of the new rooms, which was extremely clean, with a lovely huge bed. Tara on reception was very welcoming and helpful. My only suggestion to the hotel is that the wifi in my room... More

Holiday Inn makes no pretence at being anything other than a chain. However, it knows it's business and does it very well. We stayed for one night to go to Newcastle races. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, booking us a taxi to the racecourse and handing us a card for cheaper fares back to the hotel... More
