We stayed here for one night in October 2011. The room was standard Travelodge, basic but very clean with a good shower and comfy bed. There was a flat screen TV with all the Freeview channels and tea/coffee facilities. We had a room on the ground floor (104) and although this was overlooking the car park, we did not experience... We stayed here for 4 nights in October. The room was spacious and bed comfortable with spare pillows etc available. Our room had a double shower and there was always a supply of hot water. Only continental breakfast available.Although close to A1 we heard no noise, we were at rear of building. Next door there is a pub,The Falcons Nest, which... More

There is a good pub restaurant less than a minute away. Also, behind the building is a Co-op mini store and garage where the fuel isn't cheap but they do have snack items for sale at usual prices. It is also a place where you can get breakfast items for eating in your room. All of the people working reception... More

Travelled as a group of seven as we were attending a conference at the Newcastle Racecourse. The hotel is really convenient for this as only a 5 minute drive or 15 min walk. Its also straight off the A1 so not difficult to find either. All our rooms were clean, tidy and had the usual ameneties you expect - ensuite... More

A one night stay but met 3 different Receptionists. All 3 were courteous and efficient and in one instance extremely helpful. The room was comfortable, clean, tidy and well maintained.

Wouldn't normally review a travelodge (you know what you're getting) but i think the positive reviews on this site are misleading. Our room (104) was clean enough, but that's where the praise ends. 1. It was adjacent to the main staircase and we were disturbed by people tramping up and down the stairs until the small hours 2. Being near... More
