This hotel no longer exists. We had our wedding reception there 20 years ago when it was one of the foremost hotels in the area. My parents, who still live in Gateshead, told me recently it has been demolished. more

Stayed here for a single night for new years eve, and overall was happy with the hotel. There was plenty of space for parking, check in was quick and efficient and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were of a standard size on suite, clean and tidy. downstairs there was a bar with sky sports and a dining... more

Stayed at this hotel for a conference and all i can say is that it has to be one of the worst hotels i have stayed in. My room was a single room, very old fashioned and dirty. Holes in the bed linen, staines all over the carpet, dirty toilet and floor. The breakfast was good enough and also the... more

We arrived at about 12 and were told that they could not check us in until 2pm. Fine. We advised that we would probably get there in the evening. The lady at reception told us that if we had arrived earlier, she would have checked us in, but informed there was a wedding and all the guests had arrived and... more

All i can say is find somewhere else! The letter we are sending to their complaints department will be a good review i think. I have just given up on any further expectation of not being annoyed by the hotel in which I currently have the misfortune to be staying tonight and bearing in mind that I know there is... more

The hotel on the whole is ok...says its a 3 star...but think it needs a makeover... carpets have seen better days...big crack in the loo (room5). cold tap was a struggle to turn off, and sink was blocked. a decent bar and function room, and breakfast was good. It did the job , a nights stay for a family get... more

Stayed here for the easter w/end. Booked on last minute.com and got the hotel for £48 per night inc breakfast for 2 of us so really couldn't moan. On arrival hotel looked pretty good. Lots of car parking spaces. Check in was swift and the hotel looked fairley modern and nicely decorated. When we got to our room it smelt... more

We were in Newcastle for the weekend and decided to stay somewhere cheap n cheerful to do the Americana festival. We choose the Springfield for being close to the venue, and reasonably cheap. We probably could have done better - the receptionist was really grumpy when we arrived; the double bed was a pair of mismatched singles shoved together and... more
