We were staying for two nights over Fri/Sat nights. The hotel has some nice touches and whilst not as grand as it must have been years ago it certainly has a charm. We requested a quiet room and despite a noisy neighbour one night, its situation was ideal. The room was a good size and the bathroom was superb with... More

Excellent location close to the station but not too noisy with it. Long walk to some rooms as the hotel is quite big and stretched out, but for the price the rooms are a really good size and have good facilities. I would stay here again.

Turn right as you exit the train station and the hotel is right there. This is an old but well maintained hotel and was perfect for my one night stay. But note - there is no air conditioning! Even though the window opened, it was still a little stuffy. Also - it's next to the station - so expect it... More

As the name suggests the hotel is very close to Newcastle Central Station and very handy for the city centre and the Quay. I had a single room on the 4th floor, which was larger than average for single rooms and spotlessly clean. It was easily reachable by lift but I chose to walk down the staircase just to admire... OK - it can be a bit noisy at night if you have a room on the street side, it's a bit faded around the edges in places, the breakfast is fairly standard stuff but the building itself is wonderful and the staff are great.

We stayed in suite 106. Sleigh bed, large bedroom with tv, lounge with 2 sofas and coffee table, small dressing area, and large, bright and clean bathroom. We paid £15 for 2x breakfasts. Lovely. Good value at £7.50 each. We explored hotel. Lovely building. Cleaning staff were nice, and handy for directions around hotel and city. Restaurant serves good value... More

I don't normally write reviews but had such a pleasant stay that I felt I should. Loved that we stepped straight off the train into reception. Very quick check in. Room was lovely and very clean with huge bed and bathroom was spottless with wonderful shower. Really appreciated the complimentary orange water and kit kats. Room was lovely and warm... More

Overall, I had a pleasant stay at the Royal Station Hotel. I chose it for its proximity to the station and city centre. Having taken the trouble to ask for a late checkout I was slightly offended to have someone knocking on my door 10 minutes after the official check out time, saying "checkout is at 11am"! This incident aside,... More

The Hotel is an older style but is very clean comfortable. I didn't eat there as it right in the city centre which is full of bars and restaurants. As a hotel guest you have access to the Gym and small pool behind the hotel, as the name suggests is located next the railway station. Hotel parking is limited, if... More

Having previously booked with a "chain" hotel in Newcastle we decided to give Royal Station Hotel a try. Tripadvisor reviews were mixed but our experience was very good and we will certainly consider it again. We had a quick check in by the friendly staff and went to our room straight away. We had upgraded to a Superior Room which... More
