We loved "playing at being at work" on thurs & fri. The pool has a large shallow end ideal for little kids.(Usually there was only one other guest in the pool). Swimming in this warm water while gazing at the Tyne just 25 meters away was "like a dream." The robes and towels were good. Rooms are a good size... more

Made to feel welcome from start to finish - nothing is to much trouble. This hotel does everything it can to make your stay comfortable and a success. Accompanied on this trip by my wife and young daughter - the hotel arranged for a room overlooking the river, which was slightly larger to accommodate my daughters cot. Loui and Taz... more

Traveled to The Copthorne for a meeting, but didn't actually stay there. Monday morning so long queue of people checking in, which is absolutely fine. When asking where the particular conference room was that I needed to head to, the lady at the desk simply shrugged her shoulder - "I think you lot are over there - go and sit... more

I stayed in the Copthorne Hotel, Newcastle in December 2008 with friends. It's a 4* hotel and is very nice really. I would say that I've stayed in other hotels of the same rating that are more "luxurious". We paid £140 for a twin room b & b - expensive for what we got, presumably because it was a Saturday... more

All bedrooms have a view over the river and are spacious and well presented. A couple on each floor only have a side view. The swimming pool is not for the image conscious as everyone walking past the hotel on the riverside can see you. Facilities however are excellent. The one bugbear is that you have to walk up stairs... more

Lets be honest - this hotel needs updating badly. It was like going back to the late 80s. Large bulky TV, (Expensive) pay movies on a loop, dial up internet only, very very expensive phone charges, old bathrooms etc. and I'm sorry, just NOT worth the money. The lack of high speed internet access is astonishing. Please would the Copthorne... more

I probably wouldn't expect so much but this place is £2 over our standard hotel room price limit (so yes I paid £2 of my own money to stay here). The location is fine with nice enough views of the famous river & bridges. The noise from the adjacent rail bridge was minimal. The room was huge - another place... more

I stayed at the Copthorne hotel in January 2009 for business in room 205. Having read reviews on here for the hotel it was not my first choice but as others were fully booked up I decided to try this one. The hotel is well located on the quay front, near the bridges and virtually across the water from the... more
