Group booking for 34 people over the Easter weekend. Staff friendly, efficient and nothing too much trouble. Good selection of hot and cold food for breakfast, bar well stocked. Bedrooms are comfortable with good amenities, even a fridge so you can take your own refreshments. Great location being only a 5 minute walk from the train station and situated on... More

Situated on the quayside of Newcastle, it is a very convenient location for getting around. Not too near to bars and restaurants to be disturbed by people out enjoying themselves but close enough for easy access. The beds are comfortable, the rooms clean and bright with nice furnishings. Definitely upmarket, with upmarket prices too of course. For a glass of... More

Many thanks for your positive review. I'm glad that you enjoyed your recent stay with us, with particular regard to the hotel location, the comfort and cleanliness of your bedroom, and the quality of breakfast. The swimming pool closed at the end of February, with a temporary residents gym facility in place at present whilst we organise a more permanent... More

Firstly i want to say the staff at this hotel in-particular reception were great. They dealt with my complaint very well and cancelled my booking and refunded money without hesitating at all. Rooms were tired, noisy aircon, paint drying all along hallways. There was a cherry picker like a crane in reception. Maybe this place will be good once all... More

It is regrettable that your personal expectations have not been met, and also disappointing that you have felt the need to rate the hotel at such a level bearing in mind that your issue (regarding positive upgrading works to the building) was fully dealt with and amicably resolved at the time. Stayed at the Copthorne for a 3-day conference. The venue was excellent for the purpose (60 delegates) and nothing was too much for the staff to make our stay more enjoyable. We also had organised a ceidlidh and that was catered for as well in a hall that was away from the other guests, very thoughtful. The meals were very... More

Stayed for business in April 2014. Have stayed here two years ago, that's why I chose it again. Hotel's outside looks run down now and is in need of renovation. Was very disappointed to hear they had closed their swimming pool and Spa which made the hotel attractive. Furniture in rooms are worn out. Beds are clean and comfortable. Bathroom... More

Stayed recently and the location is wonderful. Close to the Quayside and Newcastle arena. On that basis, well worth another visit but I have to say the hotel is tired and in need of some TLC! Staff on reception were excellent and very professional but the professionalism got lost by the time you got to the bar! The restaurant was... More

This was my first stay at the Copthorne and know the area of the Quayside pretty well. The Copthorne is situated in a great position on the banks of the Tyne and just a couple of mins walk from the Tyne Bridge. This was a last minute booking and having looked at the Copthornes own website did not fancy paying... More

Stayed with my daughter and a registered blind friend. From checking in to leaving nothing was too much trouble. The staff had fulfilled my online requests when booking so our friend was in an adjoining room. The view from every room on to the Tyne was lovely, the hotel is in a very peaceful situation even though the city centre... More

Ok, so the view is good but you pay for that in having only the tiniest bit of fresh air intake. The A/C is not very effective either. My twin room was clean and comfortable (apart from the heat). BUT ... I wouldn't put this hotel above any of the budget hotels in the area. The hair dryer wouldn't plug... More

I regularly stay at the Copthorne, but for one trip I had to stay at a different hotel. It's when you do this and then return to the Copthorne you realise how good the service you take for granted really is. It starts off at reception when checking in, to the bar where the staff remember you, through to the... More
