Recently stayed at the Vermont for 1 night. We stayed in a room on the 9th floor at the back of the hotel, it felt like the metro line was literally coming through our room, that's how noisy it was, we also had the unfortunate sound of the cathedral bell chiming every hr all night long. I did telephone down... More

Good restaurant, pleasant and helpful staff, excellent dinner, busy and comfortable bar. Have stayed before and been very happy but this time the floor that I was staying on was being refurbished so architrave was missing, walls half painted, carpets grippers showing and so on. I think it would have been better to close off this floor until the work... More

This was expensive for the standard of service and room that I received during my recent stay here. Reception staff appear poorly trained and overworked and like to pass the buck to the concierge whom I could never find. My room and the corridor leading to it were dated and frankly a bit shabby and my view was a brick... More

Very enjoyable stay. Extremely comfortable, nicely decorated room and very quiet which is particularly welcome and unusual for a hotel with such a convenient city centre location. Great breakfast and free parking a bonus.

This was the first time in the hotel.Currently the hotel is undergoing a substantial refurbishment .However as work is being carried out during the day time this causes little inconvenience .Finding the right(main ) entrance can be a little confusing as there are several entrances due to the hotel originally being built on a hillside. Once found its on the... More

Lovely hotel, close to all amenities and shops. Great views of the river. Room: Very nice bedroom, extremely comfortable, overlooking river. Public areas: Very comfortable lounges, but corridors to bedrooms in need of some attention. These areas were being decorated as we visited - hard to avoid wet paint when negotiating around workmen. My husband got paint on his coat... More

I stayed here for 5 nights during a business trip to Newcastle. It is a very nice hotel and is good value for money. It is certainly more of a classic style hotel and some may feel that is a little dated. They have the usual English breakfast in the morning, nothing spectacular but certainly of a decent quality. The... More

Stayed here for one night in October and usually stay here around once or twice a year. It seems as though the hotel is going through some renovations which have been long overdue really. Stayed in a recently renovated room which was lovely, big & modern & clean. Room service menu is great & the food is actually quite delicious.... More

We went for a weekend to this hotel between 13th - 16th Nov and this was my second time staying at this hotel. The location of this hotel is excellent. So convenient to walk into the main shopping area and great views over the river. Also very convenient for all the popular bars/clubs which are within walking distance, as well... More

Stayed here for yet another of my 50th birthday celebrations and what a wonderful weekend we had! The value of the stay, wine and dine package is amazing...... £119 for dinner, bed and breakfast and a bottle of wine.....that was only £59.50 per person. We had rooms 1107 and 1108...... Classed as a twin room, but each bed was a... More
