My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at the Vermont Hotel. We were lucky enough to get a suite which was extraordinarily comfortable. The rooms and public rooms were very clean and well kept and all the staff were warm friendly and helpful. Due to unexpected circumstances we needed to stay an additional night. The front desk worked their... More

Warm, cosy a - touch of the past. Very comfortable room and beds but bathroom very small and the view was awful. Mostly the staff were charming and helpful. One or two finer points need to be improved if this hotel is to really stand out as special. I could't park in the only space left as another guest had... More

The staff at the Vermont are outstanding. The location is ideal. There are two entrances. One on the Quayside level and the main entrance is on the sixth floor, handy for the station. The room was very comfortable, and although we were above the bar, there was no noise. We were unable to use all the facilities, but we would... More

I booked this hotel for me and my girlfriend on our first trip away together. I emailed the hotel to see if they could do anything to make it extra special for us and they did not disappoint. The room was absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere suits the opulence of the architecture, without the feeling of it being too formal. At... More

We went for afternoon tea mid week. We firstly went into the restaurant where an unhelpful staff member pointed us in the direction of the reception/bar to order afternoon tea. This was the start of the unfriendly and snooty staff who work there. They were snooty behind reception, unfriendly servers. We encountered one warm and friendly blonde haired girl behind... More

My mam turns 60 this month, so as a little treat I booked for us both to go for afternoon tea at The Vermont Hotel in Newcastle. I got a festive afternoon tea deal through livingsocial. So on Sunday, 7th December we both set off for a day in Newcastle and to enjoy our little treat. The hotel is easy... More

Just a 5 minute walk from Newcastle Central Station, the Vermont is ideally placed for tourists & shoppers. It used to be County Hall and has retained its classic opulence! The staff are very friendly, the decor is classic, and the food is excellent. Some of the rooms are yet to be fully renovated so seem a little tired. That's... More

This is a very good standard hotel situated not far from the Quay in the city centre and also close to bars and restaurants. The rooms are large and with good facilities, there is also a fitness centre. Parking is limited and there is some background noise from the main rail station.
