This fabulous hotel is perfectly located, and many of the rooms (including the one my Mum had) have wonderful views of the Tyne Bridge. It is a very short walk to the many restaurants, bars, shops, museums etc in the town, and an even shorter walk down to the Quayside, thanks to the hotel's lift down to its secondary entrance... I stayed in this hotel earlier this year with my partner. On our arrival we were greeted by a young lady who told us that our room wouldnt be ready until 2pm. The time was 12.45 so we agreed that we would pop out and have a late lunch. We returned at 3pm to be asked to sit and wait,we sat... More

Me and my husband stayed for one night for our wedding anniversary, we booked the £99 dinner b&b deal and we were not disappointed, our 3 course evening meal was superb and the red Italian wine was lovely. Our breakfast was excellent with a great selection of everything, staff were great. Room had a great view of the quayside and... More

The hotel looks very grand from the outside, with pillars and flag-poles everywhere, and I don't know Newcastle very well, but I think the location is probably very good. Stepping into the hotel, a nice lobby can be found, with very friendly staff. However, once you step out of the lift at your floor, it is literally like stepping back... More

A couple of earlier reviewers has dissed the place which I take as a one-off experierence. My stay was pleasant and happy to recommend it. Location: definitely a huge point. It is located right above the keep of Castle Garth and right in the tourist heart of the city - the pubs, Earl Grey monument, Newcastle univ, Millenium bridge and... More

I stayed here one night for a business conference - the hotel was recommended as the nearest good hotel to the Sage Meeting Centre where our conference was held. This hotel is tragic. It looks like something out of the fifties and hasn't been decorated since then. There was no hot water the evening I was there. The rooms are... More

I attended a function at the Vermont on 20th April and aranged to stay overnight. the hotel is centrally situated within walking distance of the city centre and riverside bars. The standard of the food which was provided by the hotel for the function was excellent. The hotel has a warm comfortable feel and the staff were particularly attentive. I... More

Spent a lovely evening at the Vermont Hotel in Newcastle. On arrival the consierge was helpful and professional, as was the gentleman who parked our car. Lovely communal rooms, and a wonderful bedroom overlooking the Tyne and the bridges which were spectacular when lit up at night. Furnishings comfortable (very comfortable bed!) and compatable with the character of the room.... More

I do agreee with many of the comments on here about the dated decor of the rooms, also TVs need updating. However, I still thought the room was comfortable and its down to personal taste really. For the amount of time I spent in the room this didn't bother me too much. The best thing about this hotel for me... More
