We were attending a wedding reception at the Vermont and decided to reserve a room due to a long day/night. Also after a previous visit to the pleasing restaurant and after reading 'Pies and Prejudice' was encouraged and intrigued by Stuart Maconie's experience. In short, the room was small and dark, i gave up trying to get cold water to... more

Was originally booked to stay for 2 nights at the Grey Street Hotel but upon arrival at the Grey Street Hotel on Saturday evening we were advised that the guest that should have vacated our room has not checked out & that his possessions were still in the room, damage had been done and he was uncontactable (not answering his... more

I stayed at this hotel for a weekend in May with several other members of my 4-part harmony chorus. It was fantastic. The staff couldn't do enough to make us welcome. The rooms were very large and comfortable. The breakfasts were freshly cooked. The location is ideal for the bars and restaurants along the river and for the bridge over... more

I was staying at the Vermont as part of a conference so I can't really comment on the value for money aspect, we were upgraded to a suite (photos attached). The whole place as a very high quality feel about it and the staff are very friendly. Your stay is made to feel much more personal, something you just don't... more

A group of approx 20 of us stayed in the Vermont as we were in a singing competition at The Sage, just across the river. The location for this was so convenient. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel very welcome, always smiling and cheery. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were comfortable. This is... more

The Vermont was a good hotel and provided a comfortable stay while I was in Newcastle for 3 days on Business. It is within very close walking distance of the railway station which was a big positive for me. The hotel was clean and the room was quite large although did look a little dated. Breakfast was good although mine... more

My partner and I stayed at this hotel as he was competing in a poker tournament. We needed a hotel in the city centre which this certainly is. Great position for both quay and city centre, shopping and bars, our room overlooked the river and although a good size was slightly locked into the 80s in that rather dark wood... more

A Beautiful Hotel in an amazing location, acess to the city centre and the quayside from one hotel. Friendly staff and a lovely large room overlooking the Newcastle Bridges. Breakfast was relaxed but efficient, and everyone seemed to smile from the moment we arrived. I would certainly recomment this hotel in the future! more

I stay in this Hotel everytime i'm in Newcastle for business or pleasure. It has a nice quiet atmosphere but is still in the heart of the City. Great location for Quayside; especially with lift down to the side door. I was upgraded to a suite when i visited with my girlfriend and she absolutely loved the Hotel and have... more

My boyfriend took me to the Vermont for Valentines and I was a bit worried after reading some reviews on here but I honestly can't understand why some people had such problems with it. The concierge was so helpful and nice, as were the reception staff, who allowed us to check in early. Our room wasn't massive but it was... more
