Our 3rd visit here and we still love it! Beautifully decorated, friendly staff, delicious food and peaceful room and free parking. Always feel totally relaxed when we stay here. Can't wait for our next visit.

I would like to thank every member of staff in this hotel, our stay was really good. We had room 923 and was one of the nicest rooms we've stayed in while in Newcastle. Warm, comfortable beds. Clean and tidy. Is due an update and this is being done. Great location. Thanks we will certainly be coming back. Christine Smart.

This hotel in terms of location and it's beautiful public rooms and it's staff couldn't be better and would definitely warrant an very good grade, however, there is a sense of let down as you walk to your room and see torn and temporarily patched up wallpaper in the corridors and when you open your door to a room at... I stayed at the Vermont with my husband for one night a couple of weeks ago. I held off writing a review as there were some things we weren't happy about and following our stay we received an email from the hotel asking about our stay. My husband responded with our complaints but we have not had a response so... More

Hotel quite difficult to find from main road without a satnav could do with a larger sign on main road. Hotel exterior and interior public rooms superb as was the free parking facility. Our room (818) was average size, décor again average, however curtains and pelmet did not match and net curtain had seen better days. Room furniture was worn... More

From the moment I arrived, the hotel had a really good 'feel' about it. Staff were friendly, professional and efficient. I chose this hotel as it had city centre parking and the staff parked my car for me, even making sure it was in a space just outside the hotel front door in the morning when I checked-out - nice... I was a little worried when we booked as the photos online make this hotel look dated. They really dont do it justice its beautiful. The rooms are really nice a few cosmetic issues nothing that bothers your stay. The resturant was amazing we had dinner we got a lamb dish and fillet steak and both were flawless. The lamb... More

Using a Living Social purchase my hubby took me to The Vermont for three course dinner and bed & breakfast for birthday treat. The cuisine in the Bridge restaurant was superb, having experienced The Savoy and Clarridges hotels in London the Chef produced awesome food simply to die for, I personally wanted to thank the Chef. The decor is tasteful... More

A great institution in the heart of the city, close to a revitalised Quayside for beers and eats We had a cheeky night away, last minute did us proud. The room we were in was due for refurbishment but this was in the process of being done. The hotel is close to Central Station so expect some noise, but hey... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Few hotels can boast a more enviable city centre postcode than the Vermont Hotel, for this imposing structure is located in the heart of the City of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, not only next to the Castle Keep and opposite the historic Moot Hall, but also just two minutes from Newcastle's Central Station. Combining old character in the form of 1930s grandeur with contemporary elegance and four-star luxury, the landmark building is your base from which to discover the many bars, shops and attractions of the town centre and wider area. Look outside your window and you might see such sights as the River Tyne, Millennium Bridge or stunning cathedral, and it's not the only mark of the sheer inspiration of the Vermont Hotel experience. That's because the reasons for the hotel's reputation become clear with a stay in any one of its sophisticated bedrooms, which are finished in soft relaxing colours while also coming with a wealth of facilities for your pleasure and comfort, including - among others - private en-suite bathrooms, a mini bar and free Internet access. ... more   less
