My friend and I stayed here at the weekend, the hotel is really nicely decorated and very clean. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The bedroom had everything that we needed in it, with a lovely bathroom and very comfortable bed. The hotel seemed quiet but in the morning lots of people were having breakfast and we were offered... Me and my friend visited this hotel for our first trip to Newcastle .We were greeted with a warm welcome and a comfortable room , ideal for a weekend stay , We were very happy with the breakfast and cleanliness and would happily stay again if visiting the area .

I visited for a quiet coffee with a friend with a view to visiting for dinner at a later date. The person serving was clueless and the coffee was terrible. We were made to feel very unwelcome by the owner who was busy in a "meeting" in the dining area. We were appalled by the service and attitude of the... More

When recently visiting Newcastle I wanted to find a place different to the usual "chain hotels." This independent hotel was ideal. It's bespoke and tastefully decorated and furnished rooms gave me exactly what I was looking for. The rooms were clean, staff friendly and attentive and relaxing in the cafe downstairs with a coffee and some home made baking was... More

I was visiting family in Newcastle recently and looked up a place for afternoon tea with my grandma in mind. This place looked good from the website so we headed here, Unfortunately when we arrived the lady at reception was on the phone and 2-3 times said 'just one second', the conversation didn't seem overly business orientated but we gave... No welcome, no service and the tv didn't work. The receptionist disappeared as soon as we checked in never to be seen again. Had to leave at 7.30 to catch a flight so we arrived for breakfast at 7.00 only to find the restaurant closed. No staff to be found, so no breakfast which was included in the price of... More

The rooms were clean, very nicely decorated with quality fixtures and fittings and a nice big shower room. However, there were several things that prevent this hotel getting a better rating from me. Having to pay £5 for an on street parking permit or 'taking a chance' which was the receptionist's advice (we paid for the permit!); no bottled water... More

We booked 2 rooms arriving early evening on the Saturday, the rooms were very pleasant clean and comfortable. The local area was nice we had a really nice meal in a fish restaurant which is literally on the corner of the road. We were lucky getting a parking space I think this possibly could be a problem as it is... More

The room and the bathroom were comfortable and clean. However, given the price and the positioning as a "boutique" hotel we had expected a more personal experience and more attention to detail. To mention just a few things 1) parking is a challenge and we were told that if the three parking bays were occupied (there are ten bedrooms) then... More
