I stayed here on an excursion along Hadrian's Wall. It's about 20 minutes walk from the wall path. This is an outstanding property, with gardens, wildlife and character. The hospitality is first class. I had a twin room with close by, shared bathroom facilities. No problem with this at all. My room had a hand basin as well. Bathroom is... More

My room was and large and airy with private facilities and was acquired at a very reasonable price. Although offering excellent value for money, my advice would be to always book en-suite accommodation - in the main building if possible. Some of the units have shared facilities which can lead to inconvenience and possibly embarrassment. Accommodation with shared bathroom facilities... More

From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome, lovely comfortable and well decorated room. Clean and spacious bathroom. The continental breakfast is by far the best we have ever had. The grounds are lovely also, would be nice to sit in the summer and chill

Booked this last minute to break up a drive from Berwick and to spend a night in my native north east. First things first the gardens are absolutely magnificent, you really need to take a walk around to truly appreciate them. The house is lovely too and very well kept. Our room was in an annexe in the separate part... More

Continental breakfast was good with fresh summer berries and lots of choice. Lovely big room, had a great night sleep. Surrounded by lovely gardens. One thing for improvement could be entrance and main staircase which are looking a little tired

Sadly we were only able to stay for two nights. Excellent breakfast, a welcome change from the usual hotel stodge. Our room was immaculate with beautiful furnishings. The gardens were delightful so much so that we spent one afternoon just reading on the lawn. Can't wait to return.

We stayed for two nights whilst in Gateshead for a family wedding. A characterful hotel. Clean, comfortable, friendly. If English breakfasts were provided that would make it perfect. Our room was lovely - large, airy, comfortable bed, dressing room, huge bath, the gardens are beautiful.

wish i'd had time to check out the gardens properly, they looked immaculate. The house is very tastefully decorated, particularly liked the gargoyles and dragons. Landlord was very friendly and gave some good advice about local facillities. Best of all was breakfast, awesome! Many thanks for a pleasant stay!

We booked Hedgefield House because of its location and the glowing reviews/rating on TripAdvisor. The room (double en suite) was spacious and comfortable, and the grounds gave the place a very tranquil setting. However our travel partners had a twin room in the annex (shared bathroom) - and the room was small, poky, basic and a world away from ours.... More
