...because having heard good things about this chain, I was disappointed. It is certainly stylish but I soon started to see past this. Having my credit card read on arrival, being pushed to book an evening table in the bistro, and in the room avoiding the potential crime scene that was the minibar and with a bottle of wine on... I have previously stayed at the Du Vin Edinburgh which was lovely and this hotel delivers exactly the same, I was in Newcastle for leisure purposes and after sampling some of the city insalubrious nightlife (I am told Princess Beatrice came here to University - I would have liked to go to her haunts) - all was restored when I... Arrived at hotel around 2.30 and was checked in immediately, the hotel just being vacated by Manchester utd which i thought was a good sign.We booked with secret escapes on a b&b basis and got a good deal. After settling in we went for a walk in the area and found a couple of great pubs on the doorstep in particular the... We have just returned from a 3 day break in Newcastle Upon Time staying at the Hotel Du Vin. The hotel is within walking distance of some excellent restauraunts near the Quayside and only a 20 minute walk into the City Centre. If you don't want to walk there is an excellent bus service with bus stops near to the... More

We decided to book this hotel as a bit of an escape between a stay in Leeds and a conference in Newcastle. I really like this chain of hotels and was very confident that we would enjoy our stay. The woman on reception was lovely and very helpful - she took us up to the rooms and we were both... More

Recently stayed at the Hotel Du Vin in Newcastle for a couple of days - whilst visiting the city for a concert. We wanted to make the trip a bit special, so opted for the Du Vin after reading many good Trip Advisor reviews. We had a Mezzanine Room which was nice, but maybe not quite as big as expected... More

We stayed for 2 nights. arrived very early so could not check in straight away, but the reception staff let us have breakfast and looked after our bags while we went to see the sights. Hotel is little way out of the centre of Newcastle. Room was very pleasant and staff very helpful. Would definitely recommend HdV

Myself and my partner visted the hotel du vin bistro for lunch on a friday afternoon at 1pm. The hotel and bistro are beautifully designed and very welcoming and there seems to be ample parking in a good location. We were greeted quickly after arriving and told directions to the bistro. We were promtly seated and given food and wine... More

This hotel is charming, we came for a wedding so cannot comment on the bedrooms. The communal areas were comfortable and spacious. The staff were very efficient and obliging. The dining room was interesting and full of character, the food was very good.
