Stayed here for three nights whilst in Newcastle for the Great North Run. We stayed in the Penfold room, which is a large suite on the ground floor. Room was really impressive with large area, huge bed, lovely decor, roll top bath in the room, and seating all around the 180degree windows. Portholes in the shower meant you could peak... More

My wife and I allowed ourselves a break and organised a night away with dinner The room was stunning and made for a lovely evening The bar was delightful with a very helpful and entertaining bar man The food was superb and the waiters great It cost a small fortune compared to a week in Spain but even for one... Our first foray to Newcastle, and the Hotel du Vin didn't disappoint. Everything from the sympathetic refurbishment of the property, to the muted tones of the decor and incredibly helpful/welcoming staff made it a perfect stay. And if we ever get the chance to visit Newcastle again, we'd definitely check into HdV.

We stayed for a wedding and had an amazing suite at the front of the building on the third floor with enormous windows and a bath on a mezzanine floor. Good unguents, nespresso machine, bath robes etc made this a special stay. The food in the bistro was excellent, and the outdoor courtyard is a lovely spot. Good location for... More

Stayed here for three nights last week and cannot fault this hotel and its staff at all, would recommend it and will stay there again on any trips "up north" used both menus and the food was excellent on both, maybe a little to much but that's not a black mark, room layout was unusual with the bath in the... Being somebody who spends a lot of time in hotels, making a trip for a special occasion sets the bar high. I booked a room here on 5th September at the last minute for my wedding anniversary. We opted for the dinner bed & breakfast deal and upgraded to a terrace superior room as it was a special occasion. I... More

Stayed here for 2 nights on business at the university. Very impressed with my room, great style and space. Huge tv, Nespresso coffee machine and selection of teas. Unusually spacious bathroom too! Only thing that was a touch disappointing was that the shower wasn't piping hot, even after leaving it running for a while. I'm not sure i'd want to... More

Recently stayed at the Hotel to celebrate a wedding. I'll start by saying the rooms are absolutely fantastic as was the whole day for the wedding. Unfortunately our car was broken into in the hotel car park as the evening began. This was by no means the fault of the hotel, and on the evening the staff on duty were... More

It's slightly out of the centre, but don't let that put you off. This has to be one of the best places to stay in Newcastle. Situated in a tastefully converted building, excellent rooms as standard, and the selection of wine and food is excellent. I prefer the breakfast to the York Hotel du Vin, which is saying something. Small... More

Staff were very helpful on check in and we arrived early the check us in took our bags and gave us a map and directions. We had dinner in the restaurant which was perfect along with breakfast. We stayed... More
