Always a pleasure to stay at Hotel du Vin and the Newcastle outpost is a true gem. The staff are great and the rooms super stylish. Try The Grand Dame suite if you fancy a luxurious gorgeous space with a humongous bed and twin bath tubs. The breakfasts are delicious and the service exemplary. A beautiful historical building with a... More

A wonderful hotel that puts the comfort and pleasure of guests first. From checking in you're treated like a welcome guest. The bar area is lovely, lots of dark wood and overstuffed leather chairs. The bedroom itself was outstanding with a mezzanine bathroom complete with roll top tub and a huge shower. The bed was comfy, the room was quiet... More

Beautifully decorated, clean room. Staff were all attentive & polite. Everything you would expect in a luxury hotel. The only reason I have not given this hotel 5 stars is the fact that my meal on the evening was awful!!! Overcooked fish & not what was stated on the menu. Give the staff their due, they did not charge us... More

We consider ourselves fairly seasoned travellers and accept the Hotel du Vin is not cheap so for the money you expect all those little things to be just right but sorry to say in newcastle they weren't. First location: our fault for booking it I know, but is further along the quay than you imagine and there are more convenient... More

My husband and I have been fortunate enough to stay at a few of the HDV hotels, and this was our first time at the Newcastle one. We do love this chain of hotels and we especially love the company for a) the manner in which they lovingly restore buildings of character (HDV Newcastle is a restored shipping building on... More

Another business trip.......reasonable price midweek, excellent stay. Food was fantastic. The only drawback being the wireless internet was too slow, and the flat screen TV was too small (for the huge room that is). Would definitely go back as long as they can keep it under £125 a night.

We took advantage of HdV's great Sunday evening deal, low priced room as long as you spend £75 per room in the restaurant. No hardship! Delicious food, and a really special room - beautifully decorated, well appointed, small balcony where we three has coffee and croissant for breakfast - served really fast - basking in the sunshine in a sun... The Hotel du Vin & Bistro has a convenient location on the north side of the Tyne with a view of the river. It's not far to walk into the city but if you are pushed for time, a taxi is about £4. There is also a bus service which runs every 10 mins along the quayside and into the... More

lovely hotel, helpful friendly staff especially at reception & in the bar. We were tight for time before kick off & the lady at reception, just said fine drop the car & we'll sort out the paperwork later which allowed us to get to the ground in time for kick off. Bar staff, very friendly & efficient. Great selection of... More

D-in-L's Birthday. Sunday Brunch. 7 Adults/2 Infants quickly whipped into wonderfully private side room. Excellent #1. Soup v.good. Hors d'oeuvres buffet even better. Excellent #2. Main course Fish Pie described as "best I've ever had". All other mains above average with a slight whinge about Rib of Beef portion. Desserts as described and adaptable. Excellent #3. Staff re kiddiewinkies great,... More
