I've stayed here a few times on business and it has been consistently good. The staff are friendly, the hotel is clean and the food (I've had breakfast and evening meals) is very good. It's a 15 minute walk to the main restaurants of the quayside but most likely a 10 minute taxi ride to the mainline railway station or... More

The sympathetic restoration of the building provides a stylish and chic setting that has been carefully furnished to create a fabulous environment. The rooms are equally stylish. My watchword to the management is that when you get this bit so right, it is the little things that stand out - and while the staff were very good at dealing with... More

Having stayed in the Hotel DuVin in Edinburgh, Scotland, we were so happy to find another link in this fantastic chain in Newcastle upon Tyne. I have never stayed in a more well appointed, better staffed hotel in my life. The room was very large by European standards, the bed large and cozy, the bathroom so modern with heated floor... More

Firstly I think the stars for this place need reviewing - should be a 5* for sure!!! Doesn't look the greatest from the outside but looks are certainly decieving with this place, inside is very boutique with a big lounge/lobby leading to the bar... Very warm atmosphere. The courtyard is lovely to sit outside with a beer at night weather... More

What a pleasant experience! I visited my wife's daughter, who is attending university in the city, and finally we have something we agree on: this place is fantastic. Great wine, great service, comfortable rooms, an all round winner. My only grumble is that my stay wasn't longer!

Wandered across this hotel/bistro by accident after a long walk along the river. Decided to stop in for a cocktail before heading back to our hotel. The staff we lovely, very polite and helpful. I had an espresso martini and my fiancé had a pint, both reasonably priced and the martini was delicious. We sat outside as the weather was... More

Owing to our own home undergoing some renovation work we decided to book into hotel du vin initially for a week, which gradually increased to three weeks, and I'm not promising I won't be back!!!! The staff from the moment you walk through the door are so hospitable and friendly and there aren't enough words available that would explain my... More

This was probably the most relaxing hotel stay I have ever experienced. The only tiny glitch was that our room was not ready when we arrived (after the stated check-in time). However, we were offered complimentary drinks and I was delighted to find my orange juice was freshly squeezed. We relaxed in the lovely lounge area and were soon able... More

Most unprepossessing location and external appearance leads to a great surprise on entering. The hotel blends the modern and the old in an appealing rather eccentric combination. The public areas are extensive and comfortable. The rooms have individual names and are all superbly appointed. The Bistro food is uniformly excellent and the meat dishes in particular were cooked to perfection... More

Cannot recommend this event enough! Great food, fantastic wines and excellent atmosphere. The guest wine expert enthralled us throughout the evening and the attentive staff ensured our glass was never empty.... Massive thanks to Rob, the host and manager, for a splendid evening; we will definitely be back!
