Had a stop over here whilst Christmas shopping. The hotel is a joy and I'd certainly recommend to anyone who enjoys understated luxury. Welcoming staff, relaxing lounge and bar and lovely courtyard area. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. Delicious menu, great service and bustling atmosphere. Our room was beautiful. Beautifully designed with luxury tub with views of the Tyne.... More

It's been too long since we ate at Bistro du Vin! It used to be a favourite, but we gout out of the habit, but feeling the need for a special treat we popped in for lunch. The A la Carte menu was tempting, but feeling festive we opted for the Christmas special lunch menu. I chose Beetroot and Stilton... More

We've been here for meals previously and it was ok but not outstanding but the rooms always appeared interesting. So on this visit to Newcastle we tried a 2 night reservation and we're not impressed at all. Originally we booked a deluxe room but received an email to upgrade for extra fee which we took - first mistake! Upon arrival... More

Me and my partner stayed in Familia Zuccardi over a weekend in December to celebrate my 21st birthday. From check in to check out the service from the staff was excellent. We went up to our room and I was stunned at how beautiful it was, I could easily live there if it had a kitchen! We didn't dine at... More

I stayed in October as I was attending a concert. When I left my tickets in the back of a taxi the receptionist was fantastic and managed to track down the driver who brought them back for me. Hotel was beautiful, although the lift is a bit odd for a five star hotel as it is quicker to take the... More

Brilliant! The largest and most stylish hotel room ever, overlooking the Tyne. On a wet and windy day it was the perfect base. We hardly went out except to The Sage in the evening which was an easy 10 minute walk away.

We returned just as a couple for a night out and on this occasion were not staying in the excellent rooms as we have done previously. Last time we shared the Chateaubriand but this time on the recommendation of the Waiter we had Beef Bourguignon on the bone. This is a rib larger than your plate with a large amount... More

Underwhelmed with my bland cod main meal, the waiter did apologies for my obvious disappointment, but not even a coffee offered to compensate. Nice room, nice staff, nice quiet location..poor evening me for me.

Lovely position overlooking the river and an easy walk into town. All the staff were very pleasant and friendly. The room was very large, lovely big comfortable bed, all nice and clean, the bath in the bedroom not my thing at all, nowhere to put the soap ect, husband had trouble having a shave as the lighting was so dim...
