Following major surgery I booked a 3 day/2 night break at the hhitel with spa treatments on each day. The purpose was to get away from the kids etc and totally relax prior to returning to work. I arrived on the monday and checked in. The room was small, quite dark, in need of modernisation, but adequate for just me.... More

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday just before Christmas and our stay was faultless. Everything from accommodation, spa, food and staff (especially staff!) was A++. We loved our room (Keates), especially that we had our own back door which looked out to the beautiful grounds. We were very lucky with the weather and glorious sunshine meant we could... More

My partner and I visited Lythe Hill for the second time - again we were not disappointed! We booked an overnight stay for the New Year's Eve gala dinner (included in the price was afternoon tea, 6 course dinner, accommodation, breakfast and full use of the spa). We had such a fantastic time! The staff were so helpful and made... More

Nicely presented 3 tier cake stand, but the scones were stale, there wasn't a teaspoon for the very sweet and undiagnosed dessert, no butter, jam not decanted, and cold, weak (teabags) tea. Asked for more hot tea and waited a long time for it, meantime chomping through stale scones. Asked for a teaspoon for dessert and the waiter pointed at... More

This was our 2nd visit to the spa to which was on the whole enjoyable, the pool area is lovely with steam room, Jacuzzi and sauna all very relaxing, could do with some more seating/sun loungers around the pool area as when we arrived they were all taken and there was nowhere to sit and relax. The robes could also... More

My fourth time of staying here and I have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and the evening meal was excellent- vension was perfectly cooked. Special mention to the sommelier who was so helpful and recommended some beautiful wine. (Asked our price range first though!) Tip though- ask to sit in the old part of the restaurant which is... I am not sure if the other reviewers have not experienced other 4 star hotels but this is not on par. Granted the grounds are nice, architecture is traditional and the spa is fine if not a little small but let me start with the rooms. The floor in our executive suite was dirty and unvacumed. Some of the lights... More

Spent two nights at this spa hotel between Christmas and new year (2014). A fantastic place to relax and unwind. Spa and massages heaven, bed/room lovely, food delicious and staff very friendly. Cannot fault it. WiFi is available (not sure if it is free) but phone signal very weak, if there at all, meaning you really do switch off. Heaven.

The location is lovely and the couples reviews, i agree with. We had a standard room the lighting is dim and decor average. The nightmare was a dangerous bed which my partner and i both bumped in to whenever moving around it, the mattress was not comfortable and room temp not regulated. Forget phone signals here. Having said this the... More

We four ladies "of a certain age" go away each year at this time to a Spa Hotel. One of our group is a member of the Lythe Hill Spa and advised us of the special mid week rate of £85 for B&B, use of the Spa and a £30 voucher towards dinner - too good to miss. We spent... More
