We recently had afternoon tea at this hotel.....it was a gift from family so should have been a treat. Unfortunately we were seated on a crumb infested sofa opposite the lifts and in full sight of a vast collection of dirty glasses. The queen of hearts tea arrived...comprising of the driest cheese and gritty pickle sandwich imaginable and a selection... More

Visited this afternoon with a friend for an impromptu afternoon tea (booked the day before). We drove from South London as we wanted to get away from the city and to be honest, it really was a treat. Greeted and seated immediately (it was fairly quiet being Sunday), the waitress was lovely. We both opted for mad hatter milkshakes instead... More

Give this Blu the green light for compact comfort and designer decor. Whether business as usual or a getaway make the most of the amenities and easy access to the High Street. Why 4/5? Choice is abundant, yet better value on the high street and like so many establishments the service is satisfactory, albeit lost in translation at times.

We were a party of 12 gentlemen in Guildford for a celebration. It's a nice new hotel and the rooms comfortable, however, the bar closes at midnight so no chance of a late drink which is very unusual and unwelcome. A pint of beer costs £6 when the bar is open!!! We opted for breakfast at Giraffe just down the... More

Stayed for two nights last week. All staff extremely friendly and efficient. First impressions very good, room extremely clean and bed very comfortable. Lighting in the room is awful - even with all the lights on I had to put my make-up on by the window with my husband holding the curtain back to get some light into the room!... More

The hotel is plushly decorated with large guildford stags at the entrance and on the roof terrace. There is a large library like wall and glass chandeliers within the main entrance area. All in all the decorations are very nice and the hotel has a sumptuous feel. The staff are very friendly and during my few months stay they were... More

Car parking situation is awful and if there is no room at the hotel car park, a pay and display car park has to be used that has restrictions on payment options. If you are away for the day, payment options may not cover your absence which could attract car parking penalties. Restaurant is Steak or Lobster.....they are the only... More

We stayed here for one night on a recent visit to Guildford and the hotel is of a very high standard, nice and clean and very relaxing. The hotel is very, very good and the service was very friendly but there were a few mistakes, a missing orange juice at breakfast, the wrong drink at the bar, no 3.5mm cable... More

First rate hotel, very enjoyable stay, staff very competent and welcoming. Well decorated room, very comfortable, great to have the choice of bath or shower or both. With excellent complimentry soaps, cream, cotton and ear buds, flannels and nail boards. These are the little items that really add to ones enjoyment and are rarely avialable. Great location and access to... More
