Lovely privately owned small hotel! Many stairs, small corridors and squeaky floors. An cosy old building on the high street. Do not stay here if you are expecting a modern designed and quiet hotel, cause that is not what is it. You will hear the High street, and as usual in old buildings in UK there is not much pressure... This was a lovely hotel. I can't tell you the value for money because my mother-in-law upgraded the room for us to a luxury suite. While I agree the hallways carry on for ages and some of the decor could use a refresh, the bed made up for everything. It was absolutely fantastic as was the bath. Loved it. The... More

The Angel Posting House and Livery is an historic building, has some interesting features and it was good to read about its past life. We chose this hotel because of its short walk from the Railway Station and for its proximity to shops and restaurants. We only had one night here and had a Junior Suite on the first floor... More

We stayed here for two nights whilst attending a friends wedding near Guildford. The standard was shocking, stained loo, stained shower curtain, peeling wallpaper, musty dusty smell. We had arrived just in time to attend a pre wedding supper so didn't have time to speak to reception. Sadly we didn't have time to move to the excellent Raddison down the... More

Stayed just the one night with my wife and had a junior suite. Room was nice once we got to it along the warren of staircases and passages which was the quaint bit. Only complaint about the room would be the water pressure which was so low you almost had to run around in the shower to get wet. although... More

Last July I had a very unfortunate experience at this hotel both with the staff and accommodation. I complained to the Manager of the time, receiving little response, however, Management was taken over by Mr S Ball. He promised a complimentary night in the Hotel on my next visit to Guildford, as compensation. This accommodation was an apartment with a... More

This is lovely characterful hotel,is ideally situated on Guildford High Street. My room was very comfy, clean and spacious...and (considering the High Street location and also a wedding party) surprisingly quiet! Such a bonus having Bill's Restaurant in the hotel. It's a great place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner..and is very popular too! I look forward to returning to The Angel... More

Was a smaller room than before with just basic supplies - would of liked 2 bottles of still water rather than one still one sparkling - also when we a flex for jug of iced water at reception was directed to go ask at the restaurant ! Not very helpful

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were very helpful. We had a fantastic room but alas it was facing onto the High Street and we were kept awake especially Saturday but also Sunday by idiots being loud at 3am on the street below. Ask for a room at the back! Other than that it was a great stay.

Really loved the Angel House. Our room 202 was absolutely perfect. Creaky floorboards but what to expect from such an old building. Bed was reall comfortable.... Only moan was ....'Where's the Ghost'?!!!
