An historic and convenient hotel with a great central location. We chose the hotel primarily for its location on the high street, close to shops and nightlife. Our room was charming. Not much of a view but this was outweighed by the comfy bed and clean / en suite.

The room was lovely, and the hotel is in a perfect position located right on the high street; just a few steps away from Guildford's many restaurants and shops. The train station is an easy walk (10 minutes maximum) and though the high street is open for limited hours for cars, there are plenty of car parks a short distance... More

An elegant and historic hotel in the very center of Guildford. I appreciated the atmosphere of the place, the care in such an historical hotel and the kindness of the staff. The room was silent although located on the side of High Street. Good value for money.

We spent the night here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, having had our wedding meal at the hotel on our big day. We were certainly not disappointed by the room, it was lovely with a huge 4 poster bed as well as a comfortable sitting room and nice bathroom. Not sure I'd choose mirrors around the bath, but the water... More

A good hotel to stay at overnight in Guildford, all facilities on the doorstep. For the price of £109 I think the room only price was probably slightly over priced. If it had included breakfast I would have said that it was value for money. Being in the main high street was perfect for the restaurant I pre booked direct... More

This was an overnight get away that was throughly enjoyable. We had a deluxe room and felt the staff couldn't do enough. Lovely bed and shower. Was not disturbed by any apparitions during the early hours.highly recommended.

I stayed just one night. The hotel is in the main street of Guildford and an easy walk to the station. Parking is only available in the street from 6pm to about 8am, otherwise use the council car parks nearby. This hotel is still largely original none of the floors are level and its a bit of a rabbit warren... More

Enjoyed our 1 night stay in this wonderful historic venue. Friendly service and very clean. Could've done with another bath towel, face flannel and tissues in room. Also had to ask for tea and coffee in room. Great ambience; details less so.

We decided to splash out and treat ourselves to a luxury night at this gorgeous hotel for our 10th wedding anniversary. Beautiful room, and very friendly polite staff and an amazing setting with a wealth of history. We had the luxury suite at the front. A little noisy but this didn't phase us, it is an old building after all!... More

Great location on the High Street, and good price. Room was well done, clean and very stylish. The lift wasnt working, which made the labyrinth of corridors interesting with a suitcase, but Ernest was very helpful. This is style that you dont get in modern hotels, it is a great modernisation of a very old building. Only issue was parking... More
