First impression on entering? What have I done!? The dirtiest carpets I have ever seen (running through into breakfast room), a dark reception area and a trek up narrow stairs , over threadbare carpet, with no offer of help with luggage. The room was better and bathroom clean. Sadly the shower didn't work and the hot/cold mix on the bath... more

When you enter the reception you realise you have made a bad mistake. The carpets are awful along the the whole downstairs area (including the area where breakfast is searved) to be fair the room was not to bad clean bedding, but very noisy at night. Had I not been so tired and arrived late in the evening I would... more

What a mistake to book this hotel - but never again. The reception area has to be the most filthy place I have seen. The carpets are badly stained, andfurniture tatty. There is no lift and so had to walk up the filthy stairs and along thin narrow corrdiros which were full of piles of dirty laundry on the floor... more

I can't believe hotels like this exist in modern town centre high streets. The whole ambience is dirty feeling with sticky manky carpets everywhere, small out of date rooms, stains aplenty, analog tv only. My colleague got an 'upgrade' due to his original rooms toilet overflowing with excrement ! Even the staff seem embarrassed about the place. The owner should... more

I found I had been booked into this hotel with 15 other CTC colleagues who were coming to Guilford to attend Xmas events at our National Office. On reading the reviews I was horrified but we reckoned it was too late to find us all alternatives in the town centre so we would have to give it a go. On... more

After checking this site for other reviews my expectations were not high. On arrival at this hotel I was greeted by a collection of Polish transients who were standing in the entrance, keenly watching people use the ATM machine opposite the hotel. As soon as I entered the reception I could see how this stay was going to turn out.... more

This is a filthy hotel. Very dirty rooms, broken doors, disgusting chair and beds. Very poor and possibly dangerous power installation in the bath room. Old food on the stairs. I could continue for hours. The staff was nice but the hotel it self is old, filthy and way too expensive compared to the quality. Not recommendable. more

This place is terrible. Booked for myself and a co worker for business purposes by a hotel agent - we paid £105 and £115 each (his room was a twin) The whole hotel is a mess - carpets loose and worn out - inches of dust in the corners of all the corridors. My room was tiny with a single... more

This hotel's website 100% misrepresents the truth. Booked in for 2 nights and left after 1. Whilst the sheets and towels were clean nothing else was. The carpet was dirty and hadn't been hoovered, but worst of all was the bathroom, cracked sink with grime ingrained, black mould between all the tiles and around the bath, filthy toilet pan, dirty... more
