stayed for one night at The Albany which is a pub located two streets off the main drag. Very busy gastro style pub downstairs with rooms to the rear and side that don't resemble the posh touches of the pub interior. That said had a good size double bed with good quality duvet. Shower not the best, shaver light not... More

Visited The Albany with a group of friends had a great steak dinner and marvellous real ales. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Well worth seeking out. Our last visit to this pub was 30 years ago and although much has changed we all enjoyed our return visit.

We were in here two minutes and decides to leave and booked another hotel. Really lumpy beds, the shower didn't work, very dirty decor, the pub downstairs was nice though, shame the hotel part resembles a down and outs hovel

We had a double room (number 1). Check in was fine and easy and done by a polite gentleman. We were given a key for the external door and one for the internal door. The room was a good size with a good bathroom. Drink tray was excellent (tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits). They put a little fridge in the... More

Stayed at the Albany last night, was really good, rooms were clean staff were nice and helpful and I was given a selection of cereals and milk with some fresh orange juice! The shower was nice and clean and I would recommend this to anyone looking for somewhere close to town to stay

You get what you pay for-not going to be 5 star for the money! Room acceptable - clean, but could do with a general redecoration! Very close to town - no problem parking on bay opposite! Tea, coffee and hot chocolate sachets provided! Would stay again!

Simple, unfussy place to stay. The pub/restaurant was nice; the room we had (top floor) was spacious and clean enough. The furnishing and decorations are lackluster (the professional images look a bit nicer), but it was a good enough place for us to stay for a night. Location - easy walk to town.

I stayed in room no 1 of this grubby guest house last night after attending a colleagues leaving party in the town, I needed a place to stay in Guildford & was unlucky to book into the Albany. The moment I saw the hall & stair stained carpet I knew I had made a mistake, the room was no better... More
