A very friendly establishment, reasonably priced, with Clive as majordomo. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable, and bookings and change of bookings made over the phone were resolved expeditiously. I stay at Fairdene every year and its relaxed atmosphere and proximity to the Dorking train stations for Gatwick and London ( 10 min. walk) make it very handy. Wi-fi is... More

A charming and spotlessly clean home. The room and adjacent shower facilities were excellent. Staff were really friendly and the help yourself breakfast was really relaxed and informal, a perfect start to the day. I would throughly recommend this guest house, perfect to walk into Dorking, up box Hill or a short 2 min walk to the main line train... More

Well, it seemed OK to start with. The room was clean, and that's always a good start. It got worse though when I got back on Monday evening, and discovered my hairbrush was in the hallway outside my room. I knew for sure I hadn't left it there, and after confronting him, the owner admitted that one of the other... More

I was booked into the Fairdene b&b for one night and I am glad it was just one night. Unfortunately our room was not en suite. The Bathroom that I used was a good size, there was a little rust in the bath where I took a shower, although this did not affect me showering it did make me feel... More

Stayed here last week when on a walking trip. Despite getting there very muddy, it had been raining, the owner was a Gentleman & very friendly (he even had his son clean my boots!!!). Room was spotless. I found it very handy for restaurants & pubs & not too far from Train station. Would stay again.

Been stopping here got the last few months as working down here there was five of us there in five rooms, the rooms were clean but very cold and the owner was constantly turning the heating down in our rooms and turning sockets off. The breakfast ha wot a joke but I have left now and the other guys there... More

On speaking to the owner before we arrived he seemed very easy going. We were staying for one night and it was going to be a late one , he said that was no problem and no hurry in getting up the next morning and did not give us a specific time to check out, this we thought was very... More

We stayed here during the Olympics and thought it was good value for money. It was clean and tidy and as we are not big breakfast eaters we didn't mind the self service breakfast. Easy walking distance to the train made it very convenient to get to London and other Olympic venues and we found the owner very helpful with... More

Our room, although a double en suite, was at the top of two steep flights of stairs - not in itself a problem, but on what proved to be hottest day of the summer, meant it was very warm indeed, even with two windows open. We slept on top of the duvet! The bathroom was clean and well set-up. We... More

I wish I had read the previous rating- I too was surprised by the DIY breakfast - eaten amidst the remains left by the two guests who had eaten earlier, sliced loaf, toaster, marg complete with crumbs and a jar of instant for a cool £50.
