I stayed at the White Horse for one night on a Saturday. I booked it mainly for the price and the location so to be honest I didn't have great expectations. What I got for my £51 though was an excellent room and a very good night's sleep (particularly impressive given the town centre location). I didn't eat in the... More

Rooms are simple but cosy and comfortable. Main part of the hotel has lots of old pub / coaching inn character and charm. Nestled nicely in the centre of Dorking high street. More

The Whitehorse has plenty of potential. I stayed in the older more charming part. While quaint, the peeling paint and wallpaper detracted from the ambiance. The carpet was worn in the hallways and room. The window frames in my room were furry with black mold. The service was personable and the staff helpful and friendly. The Breakfest buffet was fair... We stay in this hotel regularly because it's handy for everything in the town, the parking is easy and the rooms are good value for money. As with many hotels, some of the extras aren't good value for money, notably: WiFi: £4 an hour! Instead of paying this exhorbitant rate, I walk over to the Dorking Halls (200 yds east),... More

If you are one of those anal type trip advisors, that has recently graced our tv screens, then, alas this hotel is not for you, whoever if you are quite normal, then as follows, the room was old, squeaky uneven floors, (the hotel is 100s of years old, what do you expect, concrete?) inc the telly, the bed was very... Usefully placed old world hotel for Dorking and environs though on High Street and associated traffic noise. Major external refurbishment with mass of scaffolding during my stay but sleep was not disturbed. Did not experience the catering but breakfast appeared pricey. More

We have reviewed this hotel before but it warrants a further comment. The staff are exceptional, they take a real interest in their customers. They are friendly, and extremely efficient. The bedroom was wonderful and very comfortable. We enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night and will indeed return in a few months. The food was excellent, always... More
