I had a solo lunch at The Plough Inn on Saturday and enjoyed it so much I returned the next day with the family! This is a basic sort of pub - wooden floorboards, damp dogs, open fire, good beer and decent food - just what I wanted - along with many other walkers on Leith Hill on both days.... More

I visited the plough for Sunday lunch with a group of fellow walkers, 11 in total. We had booked in advance and had also pre-ordered our meals at the Pub’s request. On arriving I was greeted by a member of staff. There were 2 log fires burning in the bar area which was welcoming. As the pub was quite busy,... More

We chose this hotel as it was fairly close to Hampton Court where we were visiting the next day. It was in a quiet area, near Leith Hill, the highest point in SE England. The hotel was quite old, but well appointed, with its own brewery. Beer tasting was the evening's entertainment before dinner and the barmaid was very generous... More

I stayed for two nights with my boyfriend over the Christmas period. The location is perfect from a countryside break with beautiful but manageable walks on the doorstep. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful and the food was great - especially the burgers. We stayed in Room 3 which was comfortable and amazingly quiet. The log fire and real... More

Headed here for a 'pub lunch' on a dismal, misty day in rural Surrey. After a few hours walking on Leith Hill, a hearty pub lunch and a roaring fire would have fitted the bill. Plus points - pleasant but run of the mill service from our bar / waitress, pleasant Irish brogue. Microbrewery beer, homemade burger. Minus points -... More

Booked this place online for a two night stay. On arrival we found the hotel was nothing like the pictures on it's website. Very tired furniture and decor, the bed looked so dirty we refused to stay the night. Be careful booking online. If your ever in the area pop in and see for yourself before booking.

I have stopped for lunch and a pint at this pub on many occasions when walking in the local area. they have a good selection of local beer, they have a fairly standard pub menu and also an extensive handmade burger menu, which I would recommend. The location next to the green in Coldharbour has a traditional english village feel.... More

Paying under £70 a night was a reasonable price. The included breakfast was good, the atmosphere relaxed, hot water and heating, and pleasant staff. The drawbacks were that the room was not up to normal hotel cleanliness levels, nothing awful but a bit dusty and cobwebby. No big deal. The bedding was fresh and clean, but I kept getting whiffs of a... We had a lovely relaxing stay at this 17th century inn.Coldharbour is the highest village in Surrey any set in a area of outstanding natural beauty. The Inn is not posh and all the better for it.We spent the day walking the many footpaths around the area and returned in the evening just as the late summer sun was setting... More

First time I've visited The Plough on a Sunday and its 'roast beef with all the trimmings' is exactly how it should be: decent meat, a rich Yorkshire pud (not some thin brittle monstrosity), good roast potatoes and generous spread of vegetables cooked just right (not tiny portions either pulverised or firmly 'al dente'), gravy and choice of condiments. With... More
