I would like a rating option of 'good-ish' but clicked average as the next option up was 'very good'. This is a small bed and breakfast centrally located. There is no dedicated parking but there is street parking and a (free overnight) long stay car park on All Saints Road which is about a 5 min walk (my sat nav... More

we booked for 2 nights. Seeing as we were checking in on Good Friday I was pleased to find vacancies here. I read some of the reviews and all seemed ok. We arrived and the booking in process of emailing the outside door code and the code to your room made things much easier. The hallway and stairs were bright... More

We are in the process of updating our rooms, particularly the en-suite bathrooms, beds and furnishings. We endeavour to provide clean comfortable accommodation and a good quality breakfast at a reasonable all-inclusive price. Although we are not continuously staffed, someone is always available to answer any queries by telephone. More

We booked several rooms for a family wedding and nobody was happy. There is no one there till breakfast and they are impersonal and unhelpful. The suite toilet was hanging off the wall and even after reporting it by phone and with the breakfast staff nothing was done. The rooms were shabby but clean. The bedrooms were passable but cramped.... More

We have just spent two nights at Ashley house after a racing weekend, I couldn't fault the place! We were able to leave our bags when we arrived even though it was around 11 am. Comfortable bed, decent shower, very spacious room and nice and quiet, there was however no wardrobe as such but there was a cupboard with iron... More

This property should be classed as 'Serviced Rooms' not B&B. No welcome. No-one around. Very impersonal. We booked a twin room but were given a double plus sofa bed. The sofa bed was not at all supportive. We had travelled 3 hours to get there. Normally you can request some fresh milk in a hotel or guesthouse but absolutely no... More

We had one night in the Ashley House, the booking procedure went smoothly enough but as we were staying for the races the rooms were £20 above what was advertised, the lady I spoke to was very nice and knocked us £5 off per room as we were leaving early and didn't require breakfast, but paid £55 for a single... I ask myself - how can you be in the hotel/bed & breakfast industry which is all about customer service and NOT be there to meet let alone greet your clients. The operation of this B&B is nothing short of a shambles. The only thing I was impressed by was the booking I made by phone at 10.45pm the day... More

We were kept outside because their fax machine was faulty - even though it was -4 at the time. This bed and breakfast does not have staff on site and you can tell. The furniture was cheap, the TV and the internet did not work in the upstairs rooms 8 and 9 even though they claim to provide business accommodation.... More

Booked this as a last minute trip to see friends and most others were fully booked, booking went through fine,on way to the place we received a text with codes for front door and our room(we were a little disturbed about that) would have been nice to have known when we booked! The mr even went in to check the... More

All the single rooms are loft conversions with very low ceilings and limited space. I had trouble standing up straight in the majority of the room. The hotel is also rather impersonal - there is no reception desk, no communal areas and no-one to greet you when you arrive (not even to give you a key - you are sent... More
