The Reindeer has recently changed hands. Eager to support local businesses and expecting a friend to stay we visited on a Sunday to find out whether they were open on a Monday night. We should have heeded the warning that the chef was on holiday. The new owner said he was doing the cooking and as he boasted that he... More

Having read the reviews for The Reindeer we phoned them direct and made a booking to stay for a Saturday night. The lady we spoke to when booking told us striaght away that the pub was under new management and that on Saturday night they got busy with locals and had a licence to stay open till 1.45am, did we... Went for Sunday lunch today, after wanting somewhere in that area that does food and has a beer garden / play area for the children. Past reviews seemed positive so we booked a table. I am very disappointed to say that unfortunately it was one of the worst Sunday lunches we have ever had out, and we eat out frequently.... More

Just returned from taking our family for Sunday Lunch and was very disappointed at how poor the food was. We all had roast beef with vegetables, roast potatoes and yorkshire pudding. The vegetables obviously came out of the freezer and they were all over cooked, as was the Yorkshire pudding. The beef as well was frozen and reheated and was... More

I have stayed at the Reindeer a few times before and because the previous owner/manager was always helpful and offered discount for return visits I was happy to use again. I rang a few weeks ago to secure 2 nights in late May and when I mentioned the previous prices I had paid I was told Nigel wasn't there any... More

We travelled to Newmarket for a work -related 12 day course only to find that the accommodation we originally booked fell through. Sunday night, tired and hungry after a long drive, we staggered into the nearest pub only to find the most welcoming atmosphere and staff. Luckily there was a vacancy and we were rewarded with a clean, spacious, tastefully... More

Stayed here the night before the races and what a cracking little find. Situated above a lovely quaint village pub, the 4 bedrooms are of high standard, roomy with a very generous sized bathroom, and a ultra comfortable bed. Bedrooms have their own entrance, but enjoyed popping in the pub for a pint anyway. Made to feel very welcome and... More

Stayed here with my husband after a day at Newmarket Races. The room was really nice and modern (large) with comfy bed, good tea and coffee facilities and generally nice decor. We had diner in the restaurant at night and the food was of high quality. Breakfast was served anytime we wanted and was also good quality. Overall a very... More

The high cost of hotel rooms in Newmarket town through the July festival made us look a little further out when we came down for a race meeting, and boy are we glad we did, this place is a real find. There are four large rooms, all with exceptional decor, new bathrooms and large comfortable beds. The B&B has a... More
