It was week-end when we arrived, the pub was very busy with people doing karaoke or playing billiard and off course with beer. It was quite noisy as our room is just above the bar but we slept very well as we're very tired. The parking area of the hotel is small so when we were back to the hotel... More

The Wheatheaf Inn is located in a quiet area, not far from Newmarket. There is a small parkinglot upfront, but when you arrive at night, it is usually full from guests in the pub or restaurant. You can park in the (deadend)street opposite. The staff is very friendly and the (full English) breakfast is ok. The rooms although are very,... More

We were not sure when we arrived as to the suitability of the accommodation. After having a meal on the Friday, which was excellent, and settling into the room, which was first class. The evenings entertainment was very enjoyable and we found the friendly atmosphere was overflowing until 2.30am on Saturday morning. We had a great nights sleep followed by... More

Myself, husband and our Lab Dexter stayed here overnight, we had a meal which was really gorgeous, i had lasagne, Husband (and Dexter) had steak, he said it was best he has had in a very long time. Pub was busy when we arrived about 8pm, locals very friendly, Dexter was made very welcome. Room was fine for what we... More

We are Paul and Colin from Custom Buildings Garden Offices. From the off we were made very welcome. We had been working for 14 hours when we arrived, so the sparkling clean room, amazing power shower and so so so comfortable beds were just what the doctor ordered. Having washed and brushed up, we made a cuppa, plenty of supplies... More

Called in here for a cool beverage and something light to eat, wine wasn't cold and I had to ask for ice. 4 staff standing behind bar chatting about the customers wasn't conducive to a nice relaxing end of day drink! Tortolleni was dry and tasteless

I have named this review pub with rooms because anyone booking it should really know that. It is not a hotel or guesthouse it is a 17c inn with quirky rooms and a dark traditional bar. I loved it. My room was a double, spacious and clean. The shower looked a little sad and I was ready for a disappointment... More

Had the misfortune to stay in Newmarket on business when the racing was on, rendering every decent hotel and B&B full. Through a weird and wonderful (not) corporate booking tool called Click Travel, was booked into this hovel. Paid £65 for a double room with single occupancy. Showed into a room with the dimensions and character of a 6' by... More

I don't really think The Owner/Landlord/whatever seems to care too much about his guests. The room was recently painted but limited widdow opening due to broken sash ,foam pillows not very comfortable, shower and sink fitted into very small space. Breakfast was poor no vegeterian option offered to my wife ,my half full english appeared within 2 minutes so I... More
