Luckily we only stayed one night and had not looked on here before! Described as village location we expected something quiet and idyllic. Bearing in mind we were going up on the gallops early the next morning the Bed out of this B&B experience was important. Do not stay here if you wnat to get a good nights sleep. The... More

Rooms are basic but comfortable. The pub has an excellent atmosphere and very friendly staff, a lovely place to drink! Food is standard pub grub to a reasonable standard. Very good value for money, nothing upmarket but would stay again

We booked this last minute for a weekend away with mixed feelings having read some of the reviews. We were pleasantly surprised. The landlord Ken was very friendly esp as the online booking site we used had not transfered our reservation to him which could have caused problems. the food was excellent and the barstaff (Laura and Paul) were great.... We booked this inn as our last choice but it claimed to be a country house style so we thought it would be ok. Frankly it is a rather tired looking pub. The only "Country style" is the pine beds and wardrobes - not what is usually meant by "Country House Style! Parking directly outside the pub is impossible so... More

This pub has great food and drink. We all had the 16oz steak on the Friday and there is plenty of choice. Definitely superior to normal pub food but also not a gastropub. I stayed here with three friends and went racing on the Saturday. The staff are very friendly. We enjoyed playing pool and cards. It is a short... More

It was week-end when we arrived, the pub was very busy with people doing karaoke or playing billiard and off course with beer. It was quite noisy as our room is just above the bar but we slept very well as we're very tired. The parking area of the hotel is small so when we were back to the hotel... More

The Wheatheaf Inn is located in a quiet area, not far from Newmarket. There is a small parkinglot upfront, but when you arrive at night, it is usually full from guests in the pub or restaurant. You can park in the (deadend)street opposite. The staff is very friendly and the (full English) breakfast is ok. The rooms although are very,... More

We were not sure when we arrived as to the suitability of the accommodation. After having a meal on the Friday, which was excellent, and settling into the room, which was first class. The evenings entertainment was very enjoyable and we found the friendly atmosphere was overflowing until 2.30am on Saturday morning. We had a great nights sleep followed by... More

Myself, husband and our Lab Dexter stayed here overnight, we had a meal which was really gorgeous, i had lasagne, Husband (and Dexter) had steak, he said it was best he has had in a very long time. Pub was busy when we arrived about 8pm, locals very friendly, Dexter was made very welcome. Room was fine for what we... More

We are Paul and Colin from Custom Buildings Garden Offices. From the off we were made very welcome. We had been working for 14 hours when we arrived, so the sparkling clean room, amazing power shower and so so so comfortable beds were just what the doctor ordered. Having washed and brushed up, we made a cuppa, plenty of supplies... More
