My wife and I decided to visit Melford Hall on Friday 18th July, but we had a walk around Long Melford first, looking for a place to have lunch. After walking the length of one of the longest streets in England and looking at several places and prices, we finally settled for The Crown Hotel. The staff were very welcoming... More

We were in Long Melford on Father's Day and looking for a place to eat. Wandered into the Crown Hotel and had a great meal. The steak and ale pie had been made that morning and was delicious! Very friendly, nice people.

We popped in for lunch recently whilst doing a walk in the area and needed to plan ahead because we had my dog with us. The staff at the crown were superb; friendly & helpful. We were told dogs are allowed in the bar area so we chose to eat there, where they even brought a fresh bowl of water... More

I suppose you could call my wife and I regular diners over the last three years more or less leasing the front bay window table on a regular basis, however credit where it's due, and I must say that Nick, Ian, Richie, staff and not forgetting the chef's have absolutely got it right! Fabulous welcoming service by the ever attentive... More

Booked a room for New Years Eve, as a late booking, Warm welcome, adequate room in the courtyard.bed a bit low but comfortable enough. Bathroom ok a bit cold, no heating but could not really complain. Breakfast was very good and all for £47.50.. Would stay again for a one night budget stay...
