10 of us stayed at The Swan 15 months ago and were very happy. 4 of us have just stayed there and it is even better. The locals say that the manager, David Burns, is resposible for giving them, and us, an extremely well run hotel with happy, friendly and efficient staff. He is on hand at most of their functions... more

My husband and I booked to stay at the Swan for two nights, which included dinner and breakfast. As it was a special occasion the management upgraded us to a junior suite- free of charge. WOW the room was beautiful with old beams, a large queen size bed, which had a card and a box of chocolates. The evening meal... more

Originally submitted on November 11th. Fine and welcoming historical establishment. A treasure. It was the local inn for a brief 3 years, and the last social place, of many heroes among the 3500 US personnel based at the USAAF airfield in Lavenham. Think B17. RIP. more

Visited for an overnight stay on November 8th and service was as usual first rate. This is a lovely hotel with staff both meticulous and accommodating. It has an unrivalled olde worlde charm in my experience, and is set in a historic medieval village amidst glorious Suffolk countryside. Well worth a stay. Brian Cross more

This is a medieval building, a number of house and halls from the 16th century put into a hotel many years ago and it is a great experience staying there but there a few drawbacks. Firstly getting to and from your rooms means bending double to get under the original beams the cross the corridors that were created when it... more

We enjoyed a special offer October break which was excellent value at 139 per night for dinner bed and breakfast for my wife and me. The hotel is really attractive , clean and is... more

We stayed for 1 nights DBB in August and cannot fault any part of our stay. The town of Lavenham is a wonderful place to explore and the Swan fits in perfectly. The service in the hotel is excellent as was all the food we ate whilst there. The staff seem to genuinely care and understand their surroundings and seem... more

where were the homemade cakes? 3 hard tasteless hastily filled cream tart cases were presented with 1 lone eclair. We did not make a reservation for dinner! more

This hotel was booked at short notice and when I did, I found only 3 rooms available, It was not till I had arrived and had a good look around it, that I could totally understand why this hotel is in such demand. It’s gorgeous. Apparently the oldest part of the building dates from the 15th century and it has... more
