We stayed for a long weekend in October, this a lovely example of a 16th century house which is fascinating and beautiful. We enjoyed our stay, our room was comfortable and homely, nothing was too much trouble for our host Eileen, always ready with a welcoming cupa after returning from our days out. Lots of historical places to visit and... More

This amazing 16th century hall has been carefully transformed by Eileen and Andrew in to a beautiful and comfortable home retaining so much of its unique history. They were prefect hosts and made our stay really special. We had a large very well presented room which was both quiet and very comfortable. The hall has a beautiful garden with a... More

Outstanding even by Wolsey Lodge standards! Eileen and Andrew are impeccable hosts and their home is steeped in comfortable charm and history.......they even trained Monty the family dog to welcome new arrivals. We can't wait to stay there again on another trip to England.

We stayed at West Stow Hall for 1 night in September. This 16th century house is both beautiful and fascinating and well worth a stay. Our host Eileen was just wonderful and made us feel most welcome. Our room was lovely and comfortable and our only complaint was that we couldn't stay longer. John & Julie Glasson (Australia)

This was the second time my partner and I stayed at West Stow Hall. We love staying in the little studio. I wondered if it would be as good as the first time but even though it poured with rain and I felt a little under the weather it was still really lovely. Eileen came over in the rain just... More

We were made so welcome - the room was attractive and comfortable. Even though it was July, the weather was cold and wet and the heating was put on and the fire lit. The breakfast was fantastic, nothing too much bother. We will certainly go back and will recommend to all our friends. A beautiful place with an interesting past,... More

Our family stayed at West Stow Hall for my son's wedding at Hengrave Hall. My son also stopped at West Stow Hall with the family the night before his wedding. Eileen was brilliant, she was generous, kind and thoughtful. We also stayed on the night of the wedding and the following morning had a fantastic family breakfast. After this magnificent... More

We stayed in room 2 for two nights. Extremely comfortable and quiet. Several family members stayed in other rooms, (Our family wedding was at nearby Hengrave Hall, very convenient) we all met for breakfast in the huge dining room. Breakfast was delicious and a great weekend was had by all. A massive thank you to Eileen and Andy, nothing was... More

I've just returned from a night's break at West Stow Hall. The house and grounds are incredibly peaceful and atmospheric - just beautiful - but on top of all that, Eileen and Andy are fantastic hosts. I arrived while Andy was conducting a tour of the house and Eileen was busy preparing the wonderful tea and cakes for the visitors.... More

Firstly the location is lovely. Almost magical. We saw hare, muntjac deer and horses with their foals from the kitchen window. The cottage is set away the main house in its own walled garden. It is very private. The cottage itself was very comfortable and provided a spacious holiday base for 2 people. It is well located for Bury St... More
