My partner and I had a wonderful weekend break at Ravenwood Hall. Our break started with a cream tea on the terrace followed by a five course taster set menu with wine flight. The food was delicious and the service excellent. We stayed in the Abbey room which has a four poster bed similar to that of the "Princess and... More

Chose to book the Ravenwood Hall as I had business near Colchester the following day. First impressions were good; beautiful grounds, crunchy gravel drive, elegant house. As I walked to check in, I observed a bunch of people in black tie, so did wonder if there might be a mismatch with my "in between meetings bolt hole" requirements and what... More

I've stayed here a few times on business but not for quite a few years. It is set in some beautiful grounds and the building itself is very old and bursting with character. As the hotel was not busy my colleague and I were upgraded and ended up in very sumptuos rooms with four poster beds. The sleep quality was... More

We stayed here last weekend, for my partner's birthday as a little get away! I mentioned to the hotel twice that it was his birthday and a surprise treat for him and was disappointed they made no effort to acknowledge this fact! The setting is lovely and relaxing, if the sun is shining which for one of the afternoons for... More

I have just returned from a nights stay here and would definitely return. The hotel was quiet and The Rookery room was charming. We booked a secretsescapes.com package which included an afternoon cream tea, six course dinner with wines and breakfast - all of which were lovely. The staff were helpful and we were pleasantly served by Charlie and Maeve... More

Very impressed with this 3 star hotel, that has 5 star qualities. We booked for an overnight stay with a 6 course tasting menu, and aftercareful consideration can not find any fault in the facilities, service and overall ambience.

We arrived mid afternoon to this beautiful boutique hotel set just off the A11 near Bury St Edmunds. Wonderful grounds totally enclosed in a tall forest of trees but with plenty of sunshine and natural light. We stayed on a special deal they have on until January. You get a lovely double room, afternoon cream tea on arrival with a... More

My husband and I have just enjoyed a one night stay at Ravenwood Hall Hotel, it really was first class from start to finish. It is a country house hotel experience we thoroughly enjoyed. The stay began with afternoon tea of homemade scones and cream accompanied with lashings of tea in china cups. A beautiful walk got rid of the... More

Can't fault the food here, it was fantasitic. Entrance to the hotel was lovely but alittle dark driving in the car. Bar staff could have been a little more friendly. Service was interesting and one dish didn't come with any potatoes etc. The steaks were to die for and wine selection was good. Would like to visit on a summer... More

We spent an overnight stay on a special offer to celebrate my husbands birthday. The room was delightful. The evening tasting menu was fabulous!. The staff were friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to help us celebrate. Wish we had been able to stay longer. Hoping to return when we are in the area again.
