We visited the Old Pear Tree when coming to Bury St Edmunds (it's about 10 minutes drive away). It's on the A road, but traffic is minimal at night time. It's a lovely B&B, nicely laid out and well appointed. There is a garden which would be beautiful to sit out in in the summer, and plenty of countryside around... More

This is our second stray here and both times we have rated it the best accommodation we have ever stayed in. The rooms are superbly appointed and meticulously clean, looking as though spring cleaning has just finished. The breakfast provides everything you could wish for including lovely fresh fruit (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries etc.) even in December, and the most flavoursome... More

We sadly only had a 1 night stay here, would love to go back. Bedroom was a great size, and right next door to the twin, where our children were staying. Had The Most amazing breakfast with more food than you could want. Very friendly owners who made us feel very comfortable, love touch was the dressing gowns in the... More

We booked to stay here so we could go to a family wedding nearby. The Trip Advisor reviews are very accurate. Jenny was so helpful when we arrived late and nothing was too much trouble. In the rooms, everything has been thought of from wifi access and small torches in case you need them through to bottles of water. The... More

My wife and I stayed one night in July and enjoyed a very warm welcome. My wife was on crutches as a result of a recent, unforeseen accident and because of this we were offered a larger room for easier manoeuvrability. The following morning Jenny informed us that she had been in contact with the Red Cross and if we... More

I stayed here for one night on business and it was a very nice place. The owner made me feel at home and offered me use of her kitchen so I could warm my dinner up. The room was clean and comfortable with an ensuite bathroom and had a good range of refreshments with fresh milk, much nicer than the... More

My daughter had booked us a nearby spa as my 60th birthday gift and she chose the Old Pear Tree as an overnight stay before as an extra surprise! A lovely find, very clean and cosy with every thing you could wish for provided. We shared a twin room that had it's own private bathroom with shower along the landing... More

Lovely location and very welcoming hosts. We stayed in the El Dorado and the room was lovely with bath robes provided as the bathroom was just round the corner. Very reasonable price and yummy breakfast that was cooked to order by Jenny. The Old Pear Tree is in a fantastic location if you are visiting Clarice House which is less... More
