Stayed here last Sunday night - lovely hotel within walking distance of the shops/restaurants and attractions. Price was very reasonable and included a tasty breakfast - cooked to order. Clean rooms, nicely decorated with a comfy bed. A bonus was being able to parking in a courtyard at the side of the hotel.

I stayed here back in June with my mum the night before our wedding and found it clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. the breakfast was brilliant and the service at a very high standard. we had a deluxe double room with a sofa area and another TV. the shower room was small but done to a very high standard... Bury St. Edmunds is a medieval town with a ruined abbey surrounded by beautiful gardens, lovely old churches, and links to the drawing up of the Magna Carta 800 years ago. The town also has surprisingly good restaurants and some great pubs. The Chantry is just a five minute walk from everything. It is a very good, comfortable, small hotel... More

A well run friendly ,family business - set in a renovated old coaching house. Looking a the pictures of the work required a wonderful job was done to save this old building. We found it was excellently located in the town near all the points of interest , major plus private parking. During our stay nothing was too much trouble,... More

We come back to Bury and The Chantry time and time again, and always enjoy our visits. We like the fact that because it's a small hotel, it's a very much more personal service. We've stayed in a number of different rooms at different times of year - all of which are very well presented, individual and characterful. The beds... More

I stayed here for one night in August. The owner was very polite and showed me to my room. This was on the top floor up a winding staircase - not for the faint hearted! The room was great, but the creaking floorboards were getting on my nerves. I could only find one power socket - not good for a... More

A lovely, clean and comfortable hotel but the breakfast has taken a real downturn since I last visited 6 weeks ago. I stayed 4 nights so I know this wasn't a one off. I would have rated my breakfast on my last visit as one of the best I have ever had in a hotel but it was very average... More

Stayed here on business. Room very good, breakfast excellent. Decor is lovely and location excellent as Bury is a small place, Staff very helpful and polite. Oy drawback was that bed and pillows were too soft for my liking. Room very warm ( I don't think they can win as someone will complain if it is cold ). Room great... More

We stayed here en famille before and after our daughter's wedding at The Athenaeum. It's a lovely hotel; very comfortable rooms, tastefully decorated, and a fine breakfast. It really helped start the day perfectly.

Nice location in the centre of Bury. Perfectly located for what we wanted - a stroll to town. Nicely decorated, with a well appointed bathroom, and comfy bed. The downstairs had a spacious dining area. There was also a small bar and lounge area. The hotel allowed us to check-in early for our wedding, and also were kind enough to... More
