We stayed for two nights. The staff are so friendly they made us feel very welcome. We had a meal in the pub on the first night and it was very nice, the second night we went across the road to Peas Porridge which is well worth a visit. The fact the pub is a micro brewery made it a... More

very interesting location and interior of the public space is great. Room we had was on the small side and quite basic. Due to the weather we had to have the windows open and the hog roast outside meant that sleep was difficult for a while. Bed was comfortable, breakfast was good, staff were friendly and efficient.

Very clean room with excellent shower and cleanliness. Very close to the centre. Great selection of beers in an idyllic setting in bury St Edmonds. Get a free bottle of beer in the room to take home will remind me of this hotel. Great breakfast and service throughout.

This was a lovely clean room perfectly situated within an easy stroll of the town centre. We did not eat there at night but breakfast was lovely. I would recommend the home made granola. Free parking was available.

We had lunch here on Father's Day. Good menu and we both chose the roast lamb. It came with Yorkshire pudding and plenty of veg. We felt full up after main course so had no room for deserts which looked delicious. Service was very good and staff all friendly. Good value for money.

Nice little hotel attached to pub/restaurant/brewery. We didn't eat there on this occasion as we were going to a wedding. The rooms were clean and tidy, but obviously not refurbished recently: the silicone round the shower getting a bit blackened etc and the style a bit dated. Beds OK but maybe a little hard. Breakfast was good: unusually, these days,... More

This (the restaurant) is a pleasant place I wouldn't have found without tripadvisor and a tomtom. (It doesn't figure in the "our bury st edmunds... pocket guide" which I took there, being slightly north of the city centre). No music, but because of a low ceiling the conversations noise is quite deafening. The brewery is still in use; I tried... More

My mother treated me to a two night stay as she had visited before with her friends. First impressions were lovely entrance through big red gates and the warm welcome nothing was a problem. On waiting for our room sat in the fab brewery with coffee just taking in the surroundings.when got to our room the horn blower found a... More

Stay here regularly when in Bury on business. Warm and friendly staff, lovely rooms (some even with Sky Sports!), and great breakfast (all food is great). The staff are so helpful, I popped in for one of their own great beers which are brewed on site, last week when i had nowhere to stay. The staff kindly called round the... More

Stayed one night when working at the local hospital, previously I'd stayed elsewhere in the town and wasn't too impressed, and I wish I'd stayed here before! Staff were attentive and polite, even though the bar was quite busy. Room was clean with everything I needed and complimentary bottle of their best bitter in the room, which was very welcome...
