Stayed here in July for 2 nights, wonderful. The room was lovely and spacious and the air conditioning was a bonus particularly as it was 30 degrees outside. Huge comfortable bed and bright bathroom for putting make-up on. Easy parking right outside the door of the room. Also there was a safe in the room. All capped off with a... More

We stayed 2 nights at The Fox as we were going to a wedding reception in a nearby village and it was our wedding anniversary too. Unfortunately things got off to a bad start when as we checked in I fell and went sprawling across the floor of the bar making a grand and rather embarrassing entrance! I can`t blame... More

We ate here twice recently. Once with friends and when we forgot to sort out our discount, which was swiftly resolved when we contacted the manager on our second visit. There is a pretty wide menu offering all sorts of options for dining. Service is good, sometimes slower when it's busy, but worth waiting for. It's a good place to... More

I was pleased to be able to book a table for eight on the day here last Friday, but it was a mistake to go at 1pm. The food was OK but the service very lacking. My grandsons, who did not have starters, ended up eating at 1.20. There seemed not so much a lack of waiting staff (my husband... More

Stayed for 1 night with my partner as had a wedding close by. Was greeted and shown to our room of which was clean and beautifully decorated. The room was well equipped also with a large kings size bed. The shower was very powerful and the bathroom had few added extras if forgotten to pack in your bag. We had... More

When we arrived, young lady very attentive but not overpowering, allowing us as long as we liked before being shown our room, more drinks the merrier was probably what she was thinking because we had room 2 the only one, in what appears to be a mainly wooden structure, with a room above it. Room 2 very nice apart from... More

We spent a very pleasant Saturday night in Room 2. Good base opposite Abbey gardens and short walk into town centre. Room was spacious, comfortable, clean and modern. Aircon a bonus. Staff friendly with a nice bar. Not the cheapest hotel but good value and will use again next time we are in the area.

Visited here with friends for Sunday lunch. We hadn't booked but they did have a table. If they'd have told us we would be waiting over 30 minutes for someone to take our order we would have gone elsewhere. We then waited a further 40 mins for the meal to arrive. The food, when it finally arrived was good and... More

I went for a birthday meal last week and was disappointed with the night. The guy serving at the bar and dealing... More

Went for sunday lunch on 6th july (8 in the party). Food was good but service was not good. We sat with dirty plates in front of us for 15 mins waiting to order dessert whilst the waitress stood chatting at the bar. The restuarant was only 50% full so there was no reason for this. After waiting and waiting... More
