Our room was large and airy, the décor was stunning and the bathroom was clean and modern. The bed was comfortable and huge. The staff were friendly and the breakfast choice was plentiful. This is a convenient location for walking distance to the Abbey Gardens and not too far a walk from the town itself were there are many good... More

This hotel has six rooms which are converted barns. the conversion has been done to quite a high spec with good ensuite facilities and an extremely comfortable bed. There is (or there was in our room anyway) an electrically operated Velux window which meant that some air could circulate around the room. There's also a safe, iron, hair dryer -... More

We booked a table for lunchtime and were shown to a dark part of the restaurant.. When I asked for the table by the window, the lad said it was reserved and then after the meal I went to check it and found our name and time on. Too late... I ordered 1/2 lager & lime which came in a... More

Not gonna go into to much detail as in my other reviews but stayed here for a relaxed shopping weekend and found a well run pub with a lovely well appointed room in a great location for the town centre. Would definitely stay there again!

So disappointing! This was s good eatery but since they changed the menu on May 1st it has gone downhill. I visited with friends on 1st May, meals were bland with poor presentation and took some time arriving. The manager explained the chefs had been to Birmingham for training for the new menu and this was the first day. Not... More

Stayed for one night in August in room 1. Nicely decorated room with a barn feel but all modern amenities. Staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast was lovely. The Fox Inn is located in a quieter part of town but within easy walking distance to town centre and the abbey gardens, which are beautiful. Would highly recommend this hidden gem!

The Fox inn is so worth the trip to Bury St Edmunds. We entered the pub looking for reception and found a lovely young lady behind the bar who welcomed us and gave us the room key. She explained the dining facilities and directed us to our room., and what a room! We were in room 5. Spacious, cleaned to... More

Tried to book for a reunion lunch with ex-work colleagues later this week. 10 and under would have been fine, but we were 12. Told we have to pre-order. Tried to explain the difficulties with people all over the country and one even coming from Spain, but totally disinterested. 'Company policy'...don't you just love that phrase? No flexibility or helpfulness... More

We stayed in room 4 & it was spotless. Plenty of nice touches - especially liked the fact that there was air con, chocs as well as biscuits and lots of pots of milk for hot drinks. The bed was lovely & comfy & the shower room was huge. We had a late lunch in the pub which was tasty... More
