Family rooms are hard to come by unless you Premier Inn or Travel Lodge it. Lovely that this family room has a double and bunks so more roomy. There were personal touches like a box of toys & a few DVDs in the bedroom which were most welcome. The room itself was cold, very floral and a little tired in... More

This is a lovely house. The owners(and pets!)were so welcoming. The room was good, the breakfasts were very good. We had to attend a family funeral, so was not the best of times to visit the Glen, but we were made so welcome, and it was lovely to come back, in the afternoons, to such a nice and homely guest... I stayed at The Glen for four nights, on arrival I was warmly greeted by Sheila and Neil, I instantly felt like I was visiting my friends house which was very comforting! I was shown around the house as we made our way to my room (room 2), I was pleasantly surprised when the door was opened and I saw... More

The Glen has many good points, parking, easy access to town, great breakfast, great price, and friendly owners! However the decor is really quite tired in places and we found some socks that were not ours in the drawers which put me off slightly

We arrived on Saturday evening at around 6.30pm after a tiring day and had difficulty in getting anyone to answer the door. The room was adequate - difficult to control heating and curtains quite thin. Wanted to use the internet and again had great difficulty in raising the owner to get the password which was not in the room information.... More

Great price and excellent location. Only stayed the one night and really wanted a double bed so stayed in the 'Family room, it was cosy, clean, with wonderful view to garden. Although we missed breakfast due to late evening we will most definitely book with The Glen again and recommend this charming hotel to friends.

A reasonably priced, pleasant place in a good location. Close to the Abbey Gardens and town. Great breakfast, quiet spot and accommodating hosts. Good parking area. The Tourist Centre recommended it and I was not disappointed.

this will be not a long review of the hotel. All I will say is that it is a great hotel on the edge of the town centre so with in walking distance. The room we were in was clean and comfy and quite. The breakfast in the morning was of a high standard in an open and airy room.... More

Stayed here on and off for three weeks due to work induction. First time being away from home and family so was worried and anxious but this place was just what I needed - only wish was that I could bring the boyfriend and family and friends to stay too to see its beauty. To some people the rooms may... More
