We held our wedding ceremony at the Golf Club and Hotel at the end of September. The location is beautiful and was the setting for some lovely photographs. The staff were extremely helpful, pleasant and polite. Our room was beautiful and had all the amenities we needed. We had afternoon tea and dinner in the evening. The chef and his... More

The golf course is fabulous, the hotel and bar nice, clean and comfortable. The food was pretty poor for both dinner and breakfast, the breakfast service was beyond disgraceful, waited 60 mins for breakfast in half empty restaurant with little care or attention from the duty manager citing a new chef as the reason. Bar prices good, food prices high... More

was guest at private afternoon tea at the golf club-the building and surroundings are lovely but the food was disgraceful-it was approx £13 per head and i could have bought better cakes at tesco value shelves-the sandwiches were basic and indifferent-and everything was just plonked on tables at the rear of the room-all self service.. go to seckford hall nr... good quality service and lovely accommodation, so terrific value. If you are into golf you would find this splendid. Equally, thorpeness is a set piece arts and craft village centred around the mere (lake) and a tonic for lovers of architecture - the reception / main bulding features some interesting crossover secessionist motifs. My only reservation is a bit of... More

We stayed here for 2 nights as we wished to go to Aldeburgh. The hotel is in a good location, you can wander with some good walks plus there is the golf course, which we did not use. The staff are good, the room was comfortable and yes we would go again. I do wish rooms would have a safe... More

I very rarely write reviews but just got home from a one night stay and play at Thorpeness Golf Club and had to do this straight away in case I forgot. I've been to quite a few courses around the UK and never had such a good complete experience. Couldn't fault anything. Excellent and friendly service at reception, resturant and... More

Glad you had such a great time with us. Our aim is to give everyone this experience, offer outstanding value for money and with this hopefully golfers will return. We are a golf resort but strive to give you that personal experience that the bigger venues simply can’t offer. Come again soon More

We stayed here one night on a quick visit to Suffolk. The rooms are well equipped. My room had a wet room style shower, good toiletries and very comfortable bed. I wished I was staying longer than one night! We were late arriving after a long queue at the Dartford Tunnel, but we were welcomed into the restaurant. We had... More

It sounds like the only thing I can say apart from thank you for your positive review is come again soon, try to avoid the busy times at the Dartford Crossing (if it’s possible) and please stay longer! More

Part of out annual golf retreat we went to Thorpness golf club for a couple of rounds of golf and a night stay in the hotel. Firstly the golf course, all I can say is it's a tough but beautiful course with super greens. The hotel was very nice and we stayed in a twin room above the restaurant which... More

Thanks for taking the time to let us know how much you enjoyed your stay at Thorpeness. We are very pleased with the course presentation and delighted with the feedback from golfers. Our aim is that Thorpeness is your favourite course away from your own and that bolthole that you love to visit I’m sure that it didn’t escape your... More

We attended a wedding at the Thorpness Country Club on the evening of Friday 5th September and stayed at the Hotel and Golf Club, we would like to say that the settings of the hotel and rooms were good as we were roomed in the Braid Lodge, this however was ruined by two things in the morning of which left... Thanks for your thoughts. We have spoken to you since your visit and apologised for an over exuberant green keeper so early on a Saturday morning. It’s not the normal timings and being a golfer you will know that sometimes conditions/competitions, etc. cause us to vary our routine and we apologise for that. We could have chosen a better time... A great location in Thorpeness, not far to walk to the beach or mere. It made a good base from which to explore this part of Suffolk. Hotel Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Loved our rooms overlooking the golf course, perfect for a quiet break. Restaurant was quite formal and menu was disappointing, we selected from the bar... More

Thanks for your feedback about your stay. As you say we are perfectly positioned to explore the Suffolk Heritage Coast and don’t have to be a golfer to stay at the hotel. The restaurant is slightly more formal than the patio bar area and are always happy for our guests to choose from either menu which is why they are... More
