My son and I checked into the White Lion Hotel for two nights. At over £200 per room per night we thought it was expensive for what we got. There was limited parking even in this quieter season. The lift to the upper floor(s) was most peculiar and rather frightening with open roof and sides - as you approach the... More

This hotel is not cheap (£320 for two nights; double bed for couple) but the quality of service and accommodation is excellent, Spotlessly clean with an excellent breakfast. Only one warning for prospective guests; don't book an evening meal if it will be your main meal of the day or if you are hungry. Very good menu and quality of... More

You know when sometimes the elder sister marries well but spends all her time in the spotlight and can't lower her guard. Well that's the Brudenell, this the sister hotel is not as affluent but is happy in its own skin no pretence caters for it's clientele extremely well and delivers value for money in an extremely busy holiday town.... Really enjoyed the food, but the service was terrible. We had to ask for everything, including every drink and ordering food. We moved on somewhere else for coffee and desserts as we were so fed up waiting to be asked and no dessert menu in site. I called the next day to tell the manageress and she did not seem... More

Great location right on the beach. Good car parking in front of hotel and also generally in Aldeburgh ( we are regular visitor to Southwold where poor parking is is now a reason not go) Rooms OK cosy and comfortable. Bar and restaurant good . The food in the evening was very good and the breakfast stunningly good - excellent... More

We have been infrequent diners in the "Bar Restaurant" & have generally been very happy with the food & service. This time however we waited for service which was erratic, the dishes dumped on the table & the food whilst quite well presented was quite bland so we were disappointed, however it was Bank holiday Monday so maybe just the... Great three night star end August, service from staff could not be bettered, felt welcomed and pampered during our staff, all staff first class. Restaurant excellent, well balance menu for dinner, great fish, you could see the suppliers and source from our sea view room. Lovely breakfast, great choice and you can ask for as much as you want delivered... More

Have stayed in the hotel many times but we decided just to have lunch here. Nice table next to the window , staff couldnt do enough . We waited about 50 mins for the food but worth the wait , the banana bread icecream sandwich was to die for . Would recommend .

2 night stay. Fab location on the sea front. All staff, from housekeeping, through reception and restaurant could not be more helpful and anxious to make our stay a good one. The wonderful Pille and her restaurant team ensured our evening meals went smoothly. A special mention to Chris the barman who can certainly shake a good cocktail. This was our... More

Nice old hotel. Decor could do with some updating. Had a single room with a sea view. Room was very nice although there was a massive cobweb across the ceiling. Walls quite thin. Could hear person snoring in room next to me. Food for dinner and breakfast was good. Staff all very helpful and friendly.
