Stopped off for a fish-n-chip lunch here rather than at the "famous" F&C restaurant venue in the town. Staff very friendly and helpful and had a very good pint of Adnams Broadside. My wife and I both had the same meals............Cod and chips with peas on the side. The fish cooked in Adams beer batter was superb. You could tell... More

We picked this up from the Good Pub Guide. the building looks great and the location is fantastic but that's where it stops. The staff were ok but not overly enthusiatic. It was the portion sizes and the lack of imagination that really let it down. They were offering fresh crab sandwiches but serving them on sliced bread. I had... More

Friendly staff in an historic pub. Cozy setting. Worth a visit just for the historic building details. Food looked good but have not tried. Beamed low ceilings, old roasting fireplace and other historic details give this place a "page out of history" feel.

we were looking for somewhere for lunch and as it was our first visit to Aldeburgh we had no idea where to go. This place looked quite attractive from the outside and we managed to get one of the last tables. We ordered 1 soup, one ham egg and chips and 2 potted shrimps. It all arrived promptly but the... We ate here three times during our four night stay in Aldeburgh. The staff were without exception friendly and efficient. The menu offers a good range of unpretentious food that is well cooked with generous portions and is excellent value for money. The fish and chips in particular are probably some of the best that I've eaten.

Oldie worldly pub with creaky floorboards, clean and comfortable and value for money. Fantastic hearty breakfast with good quality sausage and bacon, definitely set us up for the day. Great evening menu too, the fish and chips in Adnams beer batter are to die for.

I tend to eat here whenever in Aldeburgh. They have a good range of options, light or full menu, including lovely crab sandwiches when in season. There is always good bitter for a lunchtime pint. The garden area isn't the most scenic but it works and is generally a quiet place to sit and enjoy the sea air. Inside there... More

A quick drink here whilst on a family visit to Aldeburgh. I've been coming to this pub for over fifty years with my parents and now my own family. There's nothing cool or trendy about it at all - just a good old fashioned pub which sells great beer (Adnams). Great value food too (have the fish) and they even... More

Ate here today. It was very busy inside and out but there was no delay on out food. We both ordered fish and chips that was well presented and piping hot. Staff were very friendly and we would eat here again.
