We stayed here for two nights and the room was warm and cofortable. OPutside the weather was freezing, particulalry whilst filming with the BBC for a feature on North East heroine Gertrude Bell. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of fruits as well as full English breakfast, free Wifi and very kind staff.

stayed here for two nights, the breakfasts were top quality, there were some problems with the boiler one morning but the warmth of welcome from martin and Julie made up for it. if you want a pristine plastic hotel don't stay here, but if you are happy to be be in a 100 year old building with atmosphere then this... Stay here when in teeside with work on occasion, situated a mile out of yarm it's in easy reach of the A66, good sized rooms with flat screen TV, no food served in the evening but a good pub round the corner or a walk into yarm does the job, breakfast spread is ok with a varying selection of cereals,... Whilst visiting family in the north east thought we would stay here. The staff were friendly and nice, and quickly found somewhere for me to breastfeed upon our arrival whilst my partner checked us in. When we got to our room I felt disappointed as the room was very dated. The furniture desperately needs updating, the mattress replacing as really... More

Booking was very easy and surprisingly they didn't require a deposit for a group booking, a nice old fashioned approach. We were met by 'The Major' from Fawlty Towers on Reception, we were in the area for a family event and just needed a bed for the night close to nearby Yarm. The hotel is looking a little tired in... I have just stayed a night in this Hotel due to a family occasion in the area. I have read a lot of the reviews on this site before making my reservation, it was a decision I am really happy with. Firstly let me tell you, if you are expecting a modern five star hotel, this is not the place... More

Just stayed in this hotel (10 in our party) and had a lovely time. The hotel seem to need a bit of modernising but the rooms were clean and warm. The staff were friendly, especially the breakfast staff. The breakfast was excellent 10/10. I imagine it would be lovely in the summer, the garden is very large with outside tables... More

I stayed here for one night in November because everywhere else was full, its not too bad. Its very short staffed but I can understand that if they are not busy. When I was checking in I had to wait a good ten minutes before a member of staff came after ringing the bell 3 times. I was on the... More
